Brian Gibson Honoured for His Contribution to Junkanoo

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Governor-General His Excellency Arthur D Hanna (second from left) presented a plaque to Brian “Boldie” Gibson (third from left) for his invaluable dedicated contribution to the advancement and development to Junkanoo and was inducted into the National Junkanoo Legends Circle, during a ceremony on Government House Lower Gardens, on November 29. 2007. Thirteen other persons received induction into the Circle. They were as follows: Tyrone “Dr. Offfff” Fitzgerald, Paul “Diamond” Knowles, John “Chippie” Chipman, Winton “Sax” Taylor, Samuel “Sammy” Thompson, Maureen Duvalier, Alexander “Noel” Burrows, Phillip “Morrison” Cooper, Winston Churchill Rolle, Spurgeon Smith, Percy “Vola” Francis, Winston “Gus” Cooper, and Anthony Bruce Carroll. Mr. Gibson and Mr. Carroll also received recognition as Parade Honourees for the 2007 Boxing Day and the 2008 New Year’s Day Junkanoo Parades, respecitvely.
