Nassau, Bahamas — Friends and love ones are mourning tonight following the death of this woman who has become the country’s 117th murdered victim.
Bahamas Press is reporting the victim in her late 30s to be Bridget Saunders.
Saunders’ bloodied beaten body was discovered along a track road near Cox Way in Southern New Providence.
An anonymous telephoned police this morning, which lead them to her discovery.
According to sources, Saunders was found near a vehicle – believed to be owned by her – with a stabbed wound to her neck. We have learnt the blade launched into the victim’s neck was broken.
Police say they have no leads into this latest crime.
Friends and loved ones on Facebook began posting messages on the deceased woman’s page in an attempt to console their grief.
One writer on Facebook said, “No matter what, every one has the right to life. Bridget I can’t believe that you are gone. I dare not question God why, but it is only Him that can take this hurt away. My Prayers are with the Saunders, Faith Mission Church Of God Family and the Church Of God deepest sympathy.”

VERY SAD TO HEAR SUCH A THING BUT WE REALLY NEED TO GET AWAY FROM SOMEHOW BLAMING THE VICTIM EVEN IF ITS NOT BEING DONE IN A HARSH WAY, SOMEONE ALWAYS MANAGES TO SAY “SHE CHOOSE DA WRONG MAN, OR SHE HURT HIS FEELINGS” SO DAMN WHAT, A WOMAN OR ANY PERSON FOR THAT MATTER SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE WHO THEY WANT, AND THEN WALK AWAY IF THEY WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF BEING HUNTED DOWN AND MURDERED. IF SOMEONE DONT WANT U GET THE HELL OVER IT AND MOVE ON. I HOPE THIS LADY’S FAMILY FINDS SOME COMFORT IN KNOWING SHE LIVED RIGHT AND IS NOW AT HOME WITH HER HEAVENLY FATHER.
May her soul rest in peace. I can’t for the likes of God understand why we as women are so judgmental, harsh and quick to assume the worst. The individual that brutally snatch her life is at fault. We don’t know the particulars, so to say that one door should be closed before another is open is premature because the particulars are not known. A flower has returned to the garden called HEAVEN. My prayers are extended to the family and friends.
The facts of this matter suggests that she might have been involved with a jealous, thug-type lover who couldn’t bear to let her go. Or some mess-up marriage bullchit, with her cashing out her chips and leaving the ex in his draws and suspenders with blood-in-his-eyes.
Either way, the young lady by all appearances seems to be a decent lady, who unfortunately might have made some very bad choices in her personal life.
As a side comment, I wish and pray that our young gals and ladies use common-sense when selecting their mates. Some of these men are emotional wrecks from previous relationships, and/ or dirt-poor and can’t handle a woman leaving them after they spend their hard-earned $20 on them.
I really hope that the circumstances aren’t related to the above, and that it was merely a case of random violence which plagues our society. My condolenses.
I reside in the Fox Hill area. When I walk in the gas stations, the food stores, they all talk about this same case and they are echoing the same thing you posted here.

Condolences to the Bridgette’s family. This is so sad, however it is so important for adults seeking companionship to close one door before opening another. This did not have to happen. All of those who were involved with her need to pay for this crime of passion.

My condolences to this lady’s family and friends. Who ever did this needs to be removed from the streets quickly, this person is a total psycho the way they brutally killed this woman and shouldn’t be free to roam our streets. I hope they slipped up and leave some kind of damaging evidence behind that would tied them to this murder.

Sad sad news. My mother worked with her at the credit union for years. As a child I remember her; she always had a smile on her face. Hard to hear my mother cry over the loss of such a radiant gem. ;(

It is so sad how this young lady died..and to date there is no closure…someone knows what happened. what about the young man that the police had in custody?? he was released why? this case needs to be solved…the family needs closure……….
