Business League President Questions Police

The Coconut Grove Business League held a meeting at First Baptist Church last night. 3 armed SIB Police Officers showed up for the meeting. Is this a threat? Are we considered subversive or threatening? Are we moving to a police state?

I have always supported the Police. I am disappointed by this police action. I feel somewhat insulted.

It is shameful how this government is using the police for political action. It would be much simpler and more effective to provide me with a police escort. There is no point for them to waste gas following and tracking us when we can car pool and save the country gas.

Our leaders are disappointing children. It is no wonder this country is in shambles. As much crime as we have going on they assign 3 armed policemen to watch a small group of businessmen. I am concluding that this is the worst government we have ever had. We need to watch this government closely – they have dictatorial tendencies.

We thought the police were improving with the new commissioner. We see however that nothing will improve until we get rid of this oppressive government. They see only politics and power. They do not care a lick about people. They are determined to control everything and everybody. I think power has gone to the head of the leadership.

How will they threaten next?

My message to this unruly government is they are still employed by us and they are still obligated to act in our best interests. They need to stop wasting our resources. We do not pay taxes for them to waste.

They can send as many police as they like. They only show that they do not understand the Bahamas. A short conversation with any police and we realize we are related by blood or marriage or we grew up together or we went to school together. It is very hard to be a dictator under these circumstances.

Mr. Leader, we are the new Bahamians in the New Bahamas. We are not afraid.

Editorial NOTE: It is amazing the SIB could find themselves present where the natives are gathered, but they could not find themselves at the backdoor at Central Police Station.

  1. Bp, all i could say remember the story of Robert Hill in JA, So will the Bahamas become like JA, yea but the police depart over here will be lead by PAPA dem.

  2. YES SIB WAS PRESENT WITH THE MINSTER’S, AND TO THE COWARD GOING BY THE NAME OBSERVER IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WHO OR WHAT I AM. I AM A BAHAMIAN WITH A VOICE AND WILL EXPRESS IT. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH SIB FOLLOWING ME BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.

  3. Mr. Bowe, why are you surprised ????????

Nobody challenges the PM without being bullied or spanked……..just ask his MPs or better still Carl Bethel and bran McCartney.

Pitbull were the SIB present during the meeting with the Ministers?

  4. @ PITBULL
SO IS PITBULL YOUR FIRST NAME OR YOUR SURNAME. OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE SO PERHAPS WE OUGHT TO HAVE SIB FOLLOW YOU! MAN/WOMAN UP AND IDENTIFY YOURSELF, OLD COWARD. YOU OBVIOUSLY WILL NOT FIT IN WITH THE NEW GENERATION BECAUSE MEMBERS OF THE NEW GENERATION ARE NOT AFRAID AND DO NOT OPERATE UNDER COVER.

  5. ONLY PEOPLE WITH THINGS AND AGENDA’S TO HIDE QUESTION TO PRESENCE OF THE POLICE. THAT IS THE ROLE OF SIB AND THEY ARE DOING A WONDERFUL JOB MONITORING THE NATIONAL SECURITY OF THIS COUNTRY AGAINST INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL THREATS. SO STOP PUTTING UP SMOKE SCREENS TO ADVANCE POLITICALCAUSES

  6. I think they need to elaborate on this story more.

“3 armed police shows up” and…………………? What did they do, what did they say? Did they end the meeting? did they come to sit in? Did they show up and bring candies or something? Its hard to take the story serious, when the story isn’t even told.
