Nassau, Bahamas – We have breaking news coming into Bahamas Press from the OPM where we understand the Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis is set to transfer former Financial Secretary, Simon Wilson, into the Central Bank of the Bahamas.
Now we at BP found this move strange occurring within just days following our report that the Cabinet had sacked Wilson and ordered him to vacate his office.
Our source deep within the room tells, “Wilson certainly has powerful friends in both the PLP and FNM. And at the highest levels particularly from the office of the former PM Rt. Hon. Hubert Alexander Ingraham an intervention was made. The former PM pleaded the case for the young professional making it clear that Wilson should be given a chance to further serve his country. He will now go to the Central Bank of the Bahamas.”
These developments are indeed strange and one must wonder what kind of power does such persons like Wilson possess? And what knowledge he must know as “protector of the public purse” to cause such a major decision within days of the announcements of his firing out of the Ministry of Finance even in the Friday morning Guardian?
