Why Perry Christie will be Knighted by Ingraham

Perry Christie buttons his suit and he readies for another show in the House of Assembly. Christie is being congratulated by Tommy Turnquest, B.J. Nottage and Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham during a recess.

Bahamas Press disclaimer: To our faithful readers what you are about to read is the result and consequence of PLP WEBMASTER’S NASTY BEHAVIOUR TODAY.

Nassau, Bahamas: Chatter in the House of Assembly concluded in a statement by the Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham suggesting that he and his government will knight Perry Christie – the shuffler, the man described as a failure by Hubert Ingraham.

Mr. LATE AGAIN! The WUTLESS fraudster, who led the Progressive Liberal Party to an untimely death at the polls on May 2nd, 2007, is being considered for knighthood. And since the party has failed to quickly remove Christie from the reins of power, the future of the PLP ever regaining power in this country is bleak. A PERRY CHRISTIE CANDIDATE CANNOT EVER DEFEAT A HUBERT INGRAHAM. A fact both PLPs and FNMs agree on. The statement by Ingraham was thrown across the floor of the House of Assembly at last week Wednesday’s sitting.

Ingraham was heard saying, “We ga knight him [Christie]” as former minister of tourism Obie Wilchombe quickly responded and said, “Yeah and when we get back in power we ga knight you to!”

These statements are nothing new in the Parliament, from time to time both Christie and Ingraham always share these short love-sessions whilst in the HOUSE. Even in Great Briton today the Labour leader Gordon Brown is arguing to give former Conservative Party leader Margaret Thatcher a state funeral whenever she leaves God’s green earth. And here the Conservative Party Leader has welcomed that kind gesture.

The question however is not whether Perry will receive his knighthood now or when he leaves the leadership of the PLP, but why? Why does Hubert Ingraham want to knight Christie, particularly when so many loyal and committed FNMs are still waiting to be knighted? Christie was so ‘LATE AGAIN’ that, one year whilst in office, his list of PLPs to be knighted was late for the Queen’s approval. So much for a tired leader now in need of plenty rest! And so the people of The Bahamas have sent him to his political wilderness and still the PLP cannot find the nerve to rid itself of the baggage Christie has become for their party.

Yes that is the question, why? Why – if he really means what he said – would Hubert want to knight the leader of the opposition and not some persons in the court of the FNM? Or is it because the Prime Minister sees Christie as a more faithful servant doing what he is asked to do? Bahamas Press believes the latter. And the last 2008/09 Budget debate proves this point.

In an exclusive with the WUTLESS TRIBUNE, Hubert Ingraham said he was shocked that he did not hear the Opposition raise concerns about the increased taxes and tariffs in his 2008/9 Budget. Now imagine this man – who decided to increase the cost of living with HIGH TAXES on the Bahamian people – saying that he is surprised that the Opposition did not warn the people that he had already cocked his gun? Of course Christie could not say anything, for both Christie and the WUTLESS media, all have been bought LOCK, STOCK AND BARREL, deep in the pockets HUBERT ALEXANDER INGRAHAM!

None will challenge Hubert ‘the toothless lion’ Ingraham. And how dear the ‘pussy cat’ come and pee on that ‘tootless lion’? It was Hubert who allowed legislation to be passed on the floor of the House allowing Christie’s Prime Minister’s pension. Christie did not earn a pension like Pindling, but Hubert gave Christie a pension.

Yes Hubert will knight Christie because Christie continues to keep the PLP fractured, and disjointed after their defeat at the polls on May 2nd, 2007. With some branches closed and dying.

Yes Hubert will knight Christie because Christie more than anyone in the PLP continues to lose the youthful arm of the party. He lost Rigby, he lost Gibson, and the youth branch has degenerated to oblivion.

Yes Hubert will knight Christie because he cannot fire Malcolm Adderley, as the MP for Elizabeth is on the Ingraham government payroll and answers to the minister of finance. Christie has allowed this to happen whilst PLPs look on scrapping for votes in Parliament. Who in this country believes a sitting member of Hubert Ingraham’s FNM will vote with the PLP on a bill?

Yes Hubert will knight Christie, seeing that Christie has allowed the PLP to degenerate into an OLDER clan of marching ELITEST! ‘OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE MASSES’!

Yes Hubert Ingraham will knight Christie, because he would continue to hold off PLP party radicals from attacking FNMs. More importantly, he has held off PLPs from attacking Hubert Ingraham in any arena, whether in or outside the Parliament.

So yes Hubert will knight Christie, and many PLPs will follow Christie to that ceremony saying, how deserving Christie is for what Hubert ‘the toothless lion’ Ingraham has done.

However in saying all this, PLPs will be BLIND to the reality of the colossal damages Christie has done to the PLP, all in the furtherance of Hubert Ingraham’s.

  1. Hi Rupert,

Thats my name – DRAMA KING….so you know drama follows me everywhere. I will say this to you …. at this point I have about 30% more respect for Christie than Ingraham. At least Christie does not OPENLY show total disregard for the Bahamian people. The worst thing that can be said about Christie is that he is a “flammer”……this I say because he does not want to tell anyone “NO”. He would rather flam you into thinking he is helping you than say an outright NO and be rude to you. If Christie had the means to help everyone, I think he would. I cant say that for his former partner Ingraham. Ingraham would rather keep everything tightly held in his grubby, little, cheap hands…..oh but of course if a rich, white person comes along he would gladly open his hands and let everything fall into their deep pockets.

  2. Wow!….is media and Drama king the same person? You sound very upset Drama, or are just trying to create some. (drama).

Nobodies perfect Drama but am sure when history looks upon these guys their legacy be very positive. Mr. Christie is a very intelligent person, he’s not gonna be forced out of office. There is a right way and a wrong way of doing things and when the time comes me and thousands of other Plps would support him 110%.

Am a Plp not because of Mr. Christie but for what the party stand for…. You gat to stand for something.

  3. Respect should be given where respect is shown. Ingraham and his crew show NO respect to the Bahamian people so I will do likewise and show them NO respect. I am a middle classed Bahamian and OBVIOUSLY he is trying to wipe out my kind. Why should I show respect to such a person? I think if any of those two jokers – Christie or Ingraham – shows up at Buckingham Palace to be knighted, Queen Elizabeth would rather slash their throats with her sword than tap them on the shoulder – “Arise Lords of Crookedness!!”.

  4. Media…. we all know that its all politics whenever any-ones knighted in this country or any other country that is apart of the commonwealth for that matter. Is this really about the administration of the plp, or are you just trying to be fair two both sides?

Personally i would love to see both Mr. Ingraham and Mr. Christie Knighted because they have both made grate contributions in serving our country… PS i think u r doing a grate job, keep it up and also show these guys a bit more respect am a plp but Mr. Ingraham is our prime minister….thanks

  5. Has anyone even considerd that when we became independant that we traded one good old boys club for the next ……let’s think about it for a while in the last 30 years or so since we have been independant we have made some progress but we have gone two steps forward and one step backwards…In this country we hostory and time have given us a gift that most older nations such as The U.S.A and England we were presented with a new and blessed nation that was born in a time with booming technology and information with advances in health care and education and other such advances in science….we have not done much to improve ourselves at the high levels in government.

Our history has been marred by great leaders and crooked leaders with leaders that was in it for fame and fortune and some that was in it for name only…since the founding fathers were first elected in 1969the seats that they have held is either held by their children and grand children associates and best freinds or business partner’s….what we need in this nation is a new liberlisation off our laws , government and people but while still keeping our culture, morals and rituals that all makes us bahamian’s….we have to look strongly towards the future and chose people whi best represent our ideals beacause for the last 15 years this was not happening……it has been all about lawer’s,lawer’s and more lawer’s.

  6. We the people, are the ones who can grip our government firmly by the ankles in burning distance over a raging fire and demand accountability. Politicians are servants, not Gods.

  7. Some politicians today are nothing more than empty suits of walking contradictions. The people want a clean change. New vision, new policies, new focus and renewed action. Not talks, small change, rum and empty promises. Education and economic independence.

  8. Mr. Prime Minister, I would offer you a napkin, but I am going to watch you sweat this time. The sale of Batelco will either make or break your political career. I am betting on the latter

  9. By the way, can anyone confirm that PM Hubert Ingraham is due to directly benefit from the sale of Batelco? Why pump in millions of Bahamian tax payers dollars to upgrades Batelco if it si being sold in 5 months or less? This one question just would not leave me alone. Now Ingraham government is going to tax the Bahamian middle class to death to make up for those millions..Something aint right about this Batelco sale. Blue Waters. If I am not mistaken, the President of Blue Waters Mr. LB a former employee of Batelco and also Erisson. I think it’s a subsidary of Erisson located in the Atlantic House Building on Collins Avenue(if so), If my facts are correct, Lyfordcay Billionaire/Millionaire Michael Dingman owns Erisson. If that being accurate, then the question that really must be asked is, Will Batelco really be entirely Bahamian owned? I am going to leave it there for now.

  10. That’s It. Thats the story that we were made to believe would shock and awe, so what if Perry Christie or Hubert Ingraham get knighted. And all of this is as a result of the PLP Webmaster email in which it seems that you guys made him angry and he was just responding to you.

Please tell me what is the difference between you guys publishing what looks have been not for public consumption and when the Prime Minster read a private letter from Bahamar in the House of Assembly.

I suggest to all of your contributors that they should now be cautious in sending emails to you guys if you are going to do this kind of thing.

This seems like all of you have axes to grind and you should have your arguments in private because I really do not see have this stories and especially the burnt cars stories are showing up the “wutless media”.

  11. My question is, Why don’t we spend our energy and focus our efforts on more meaningful and pressing issues? Children are being sexually abused as we breathe this very moment. Children are targeted by lesbians and homosexuals in alarming numbers in this country. Three corners in a certain ghetto community I counted 22 high school drop outs 4 were young girls (13-16) who are now prostituting themselves for anything. We must find ways to grasp the attention of todays Bahamian youth and lead them in more positive directions. I don’t care about knighthood! I don’t care to engage in their political games of mistrust and lies. What I care about is protecting and educating our Bahamian children. With the exception of Branville, Byron and Kwazi, the FNM has failed the Bahamian people. Minister Laing said on National radio that this year (2008) the economy will grow by 3.5 percent on the low end and 4.0 percent on the high end compared to same time last year (2007). I can’t wait for the Economic indicators for the first six (6) months of this year to be released. This man needs to apologize to the Bahamian people for misleading them. He has yet to do so. So you see, politics is just a bunch of games…they don’t really care about the average Bahamian and their daily challenges. It should always be about one element: “We the people”

  13. IF THE PLAN IS FOR MR INGRAHAM TO STEP DOWN BECAUSE OF HEALTH OR OTHER REASONS & BRENT SYMONETTE TO BE KNIGHTED LIKE HIS DAD, THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE WILL NEVER STAND FOR IT! WE ARE WATCHING !

  15. Some very great minds have retorted that politics indeed makes strange bedfellows/former law partners. also in another place, truth is stranger than friction.aa

  16. Well muddo sick! When did Ivan Johnson and the Punch takeover this website. You going downhill faster than an elephant on a greased skateboard.

If Ingraham were to knight Christie, it would be the same as them issuing a statment saying that “The FNM lied on Christie during the recent campaign, he an the PLP really did a lot of good for the country and are deserving of an award”. Think about it.

But just like the Punch, BP now doesn’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.

  17. The following caption “Bahamas Press disclaimer: To our faithful readers what you are about to read is the result and consequence of PLP WEBMASTER’S NASTY BEHAVIOUR TODAY.” does not go well with your assertions of being the only free source of news and information in the Bahamas. You are sounding like the politicians in the House of Assembly, “you tell your story on me and I going to tell my story on you.” Keep up your present course and will you be losing respect and readers. Just a word of advice ma boy.

  18. My brothers. This is politics and we will never understand it. Who in politics would turn down a knighthood? Forget political party. They can change every five years but knighthood lasts even beyond death. Sir Perry Gladstone Christie. WOW! That has a nice ring to it. In fact, it sounds real good. The only problem is that Ingraham would probably not get his anytime soon ‘cuz the PLP would have self destructed and not getting in power in the near future. (I just thought I’d put that one in there to get my PLP brothers thinking). “it aint long nah”

  19. I am glad your back, but I see you must be a twin of the PLP Administrator. Just as sick! You said you was not coming back in here and now your here. We welcome you back ‘SICKNESS AND ALL!’

    Bahamas Press/ Editor

  20. one word to describe this article. DISAPPOINTING.

the day Ingraham knights PC is the day hell will freeze over. if PC was to accept it his political life will be over and the PLP’s will never forgive him. I think your assertions Media is a bit far fetched. this will never happen. the fallout of this for PC will be unimaginable. PC isnt that stupid.

I am going to put my Kalik back in the fridge.

  21. Mudda sick! I going to buy me a CASE of Kalik and put it on ice. I think this is going to be a long night.
