COB Careers Symposium Presenters Advocate Strong English Language Skills‏

NASSAU, The Bahamas – Presenters encouraged College of The Bahamas students to build strong English language skills to propel success in chosen careers at the College of the Bahamas Careers Symposium, September 10, at the Harry C. Moore Library. 

Speaking to a full room of young people were:  Raymond Winder, Managing Partner at Deloitte and Touche, who advocated strong language skills and a solid educational foundation for accounting trainees; and Joy Jibrilu, Director General of Tourism, who highlighted the benefit of legal training in being effective in financial services and investments. 

Also presenting were: Mervin Sweeting, Founder & CEO of Switcha Bahamas Ltd.; Dr. Selima Campbell-Hauber of Field to Fork Community Farm; Dr. Carlton Watson, Dean of Pure & Applied Sciences at COB; and Travis Miller, a Website Developer/Consultant.
