Nassau, Bahamas – An area of showers and thunderstorms continues to persist near and east of the Bahamas.
The National Hurricane Center says there is a medium chance of development in the next five days.
An area of disturbed weather continues to persist near the Bahamas and over the Atlantic waters just east of there. Although this system is disorganized at the moment, there is some chance it could become a tropical or subtropical cyclone during the next few days.
On Sunday heavy rainfall flooded streets and submerged vehicles around the West Bay and airport corridors of New Providence.
Weather experts say they are monitoring these developments as the Bahamas recently suffered Hurricane Matthew, which took out electrical power and services across New Providence, North Andros and Grand Bahama.
