FIREARM RECOVERED

Sometime around 2:30 pm on Friday 7th May, 2010 officers of the Southern Division while on patrol on Podoleo Street observed a group of men acting suspiciously.  Officers stopped and as they approached the men, they fled on foot.  A search was made of the area where officers recovered a shotgun.  No one was taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

HOMICIDE

Sometime around 6:00 pm on Friday 7th May, 2010 police received information of a shooting at Regent Street off West Ave, Miller’s Height.  Police responded and discovered the lifeless body of a male clad in a short jeans pants, white t-shirt and white tennis shoes with multiple gunshot injuries to the body.  EMS responded and confirmed no vital signs of life. Information received a dark coloured vehicle was seen leaving the area headed south on London Ave.  Police are investigating.

DOUBLE TRAFFIC FATALITY

Sometime around 8:40 pm on Friday 7th May, 2010 officers of the Eleuthera Police Department received information of a traffic accident on Queens Highway, Hatchet Bay Eleuthera.  Police responded and information received a white Ford Bus L/P/ 7294 with three occupants was travelling  south on Queen’s Highway, and a grey Honda Accord L/P 2556 occupied by two people was travelling north on Queen’s Highway, when the two collided.  Both the occupants of the Honda Accord succumbed to their injuries.  A team of officers from the Traffic Division, New Providence has been flown into Eleuthera to assist their colleagues with the investigation.  Investigation continues.

STABBING

Sometime around 3:30 am on Saturday 8th May, 2010 police received information of a stabbing.  Information received a 21 year old male of Highbury Park while at Club Waterloo East Bay Street, got into an altercation with a group of men which resulted in him being stabbed to the back.  The male was taken to hospital via private vehicle, where he is listed in stable condition.  Police are investigating.

FIREARM ARREST

Sometime around 11:20 am on Saturday 8th May, 2010 officers of the Eastern Division while on patrol in the Monastery Park area, conducted a search of a silver 1996 Silver Mitsubishi Lancer L/P 168516.  Officers searched and recovered from the under the front passenger seat a handgun and ammunition.  The occupants of the vehicle, two males ages 31 and 21 were taken into custody.  Police are investigating.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 11:50 pm on Saturday 8th May, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Sea Beach Estates.  Information received a male on arrival to his residence at Sea Beach Estates was approached by two men, one of whom was clad in a plaid shirt and dark coloured trousers, allegedly armed with a handgun demanding cash.  The culprits robbed the man of his cell phone, jewelry and an undetermined amount of cash.  The culprits fled the area on foot in a westerly direction.  Police are investigating.
