FATALITY
Sometime around 9:30 pm on Friday 01st October, 2010 an accident occurred on Queens Highway, in Nicholls Town Andros involving a 1992 Dodge Ram Truck L/P 1449 and a bicyclist. It is reported that both the truck and the bicyclist were traveling west on Queens Highway when the bicyclist was struck. The victim was taken to the local clinic, where he was pronounced dead. A team of officers from the Traffic Division, New Providence is presently on the island of Andros assisting their colleagues with the investigation.
SHOOTING
Shortly before 3:00 am on Saturday 02nd October, 2010 police received information of a shooting at Lily of the Valley Corner between East Street and Market Street. Police responded and discovered a male with gunshot injuries to the abdomen and legs. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in serious condition. At present police are unable to provide the circumstances surrounding this incident. Investigations continue.
