Nassau, Bahamas — We have certainly become the watchdog of this state and when it comes to corruption, fraud, ‘thiefin’ and killing in this country the righteous anger of BP awakens and we begin to roar like the blood sweating baldhead of a baptist preacher. We cannot stand the face of ‘vickedness’ and this is why we have been chosen to be the scribes of this city.
BP is once again in the filing rooms of the OPM digging deep this time into some papers we agree has the fingerprints of a politician’s brother all over it.
Our deep throat in the OPM tell us, “Its is strange to see how quickly matters involving certain family members can quickly disappear off the radar.”
BP was given all the details and paperwork surrounding an investigation involving Harley Davidson of Nassau in the Prince George Plaza. You should know the company is owned by Brendan Foulkes the son of the newly sworn in Governor General, Sir Arthur Foulkes. He is also the brother of Dion Foulkes, the Minister of Labour.
Evidence supplied to us confirms that following an intensive investigation by the Customs Department, Brendan attempted to sneak into the country a trailer load of clothing and declared them as being T-Shirts. The items he wrote on his customs entry form would have attracted a reduced duty of 25%. But this was not so.
Custom officials caught the false declaration and on December 21, 2009 an intensive investigation discovered a shocking surprise. Bahamas Press can confirm as officers search the trailer, loaded with hidden boxes of hoodies and coloured designer t-shirts, were not declared on the customs entry form. The items attract a higher duty of 35%. Customs officials also contacted the supplier of the goods, Bravado International Inc., and discovered that the importer had removed all of their classified items off the invoiced supplied to the tax collectors.
Bahamas Press will not prolong our thoughts on this matter, nor will we attempt to write an epistle according to our findings in the Customs department. However, we will provide you with the evidence, which justifies our story. We are concern with these frequest ‘hightail cookie jar rip-off scam artist’ who know better. We cry SHAME ON BRENDAN FOULKES for we thought of all the ‘thiefin’ sons in the country, he would have known better.
This incident reminds us of a similar one when Gary Christie brother of Perry Christie was caught with his pants down and customs papers in hand. The devious Gary sneaked trailers, with all manner of items, through the backyards of Andros in a bold attempt to evade customs. His brother, Perry Christie, was minister in-charge of the Customs Department at the time. The items were seized but not a word has been heard since.
Hubert Ingraham said in the House of Assembly following the Monavie scandal, he would like to find the officers who clampdown on tax evaders so that he can reward them personally. We wonder if any of the officers uncovering this scam by Foulkes has yet heard from the PM.
Man we need CHANGE IN THIS COUNTRY!
