The Urban Renewal Commission in conjunction with the Urban Renewal Foundation and BTC proudly presents its first annual “Love Games” Track & Field Meet, which will take place on Saturday, 13th February, 2016 at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium from 9:00am – 8:00pm.

The Urban Renewal Commission’s Sporting League under the direction of Coordinator Wilton Russell Jr. has created an event aimed at providing

opportunities for persons from the inner city to participate in a nationally recognized sporting initiative.

Each of the nine Urban Renewal Centers will be represented by residences who live within their respective communities.

The goal of the Urban Renewal Sporting League is to unite communities through sports, develop talents of youth of our nation and provide opportunities for them to excel. The “Love Games” Track and Field Meet is the perfect catalyst to accomplish this objective.
With over 1,000 participants set to compete in this epic undertaking, the track and field meet will be one of most exciting and memorable events of Urban Renewal to date.

In addition to the nine Urban Renewal Centers competing, with one another we have also comprised some special featured events which include: The Members of Parliament 4 x 50, the Armed Forces Relays, which include teams from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Bahamas Customs Department; Bahamas Immigration Department and Department of Correctional Services; the Junkanoo Relays and the Pastors Relays, which include The Bahamas Harvest, Mount Tabour Church, City of Praise, The Hope Centre, Bethel Baptist Church, Faith Temple Church, Life Changing Ministries, and New Testament Independent Baptist Church.

This fun-filled family event is absolutely free of charge and promises to be a day of excitement for participants and spectators alike.

The Urban Renewal Commission thanks our sponsors for assisting in hosting this event: The Urban Renewal Foundation, Bahamas Telecommunication Corporation, Arawak Homes, Virgo Car Rentals, Rubis Bahamas, Tots Are Us, Doctors Hospital and Original Patties.
