Here is a scene captured too often on the streets of New Providence, flashing street lights! Where another huge government contract out of the Ministry of Works is awarded, yet the lights appear always out-of-order amid with a growing traffic problem. Why can’t a contractor, fix the lights that manage traffic flowing in the city of this country? And if they cannot fix a traffic light at juncture where two of the oldest streets in the country meet [Bay & East Streets], just in the back of the Cabinet Churchill Building, a block from the Parliament, a stone’s throwaway from the Supreme Court and in the heart of the city, how would any department expect to be successful fixing the traffic problem in the country? The decay of the infrastructure across the country is a clear sign of neglect across The Bahamas.
