Hubert shows his duplicity and dishonesty once again

I repeat that the demonstration by Hubert Minnis and the Free National Movement outside of the Bank of The Bahamas was reckless, irresponsible and harmful to the reputation of the Bank. It is an attempt to undermine the policy of The Bahamas government to rescue the bank after loans approved while Hubert Minnis sat as a Cabinet Minister in a FNM government which created much financial hardship for the institution.
What is outrageous is that at the demonstration, Dr. Minnis actually admitted that the board appointed by the FNM government approved the loans which are the subject and focus of the bank’s rescue efforts. This means that the current board was not in place at the time the loans were approved and granted. But since Minnis never lets the truth get in the way of a slimy and deceitful story, he then contradicted himself when he accused the current board of directors of driving the bank into the ditch. How is that possible? He is the only character I have heard with the uncanny knack to approbate and reprobate on the same issue all at the same time. Is Hubert Minnis seeing Holograms? This is duplicity and intellectual dishonesty in its worst form.
Since Minnis and the FNM do not have an alternative plan to rescue the Bank of The Bahamas after playing a significant role in creating the current fiscal mess or driving the bank in the ditch as he describes it, he must act responsibly and get behind the rescue plan of the government to save this public financial institution. The bank, the Bahamian people and the country are better served if Dr. Minnis just gets out of the way and let the people who actually have plan, execute their plan without the nuisance of his constant distractions and public antics to seek headlines or to sound relevant.
The current BOB board was instrumental in designing and executing the rescue plan now in place for the bank. For that the PLP expresses its appreciation, offers its support and thanks them for their patriotic service on behalf of the Bahamian people. As for the Managing Director who has given the requisite six months’ notice of his retirement, the PLP thanks him for his years of stellar service to this important public financial institution and the country and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
