Nassau, Bahamas — Former FNM MP and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of National Security in the Ingraham government has been arrested. Lester Turnquest was arrested on fraud related charges and was read his right as he arrived at CDU with his attorney.
The Gestapo Police has yet to comment further on the matter. Turnquest was the former partner of murdered banker Howell Jones who was shot in broad daylight as he existed his vehicle out west at Compass Point in late April. To date no one has been arrested in connection with his murder.
Turnquest and his deceased partner Jones was in a court dispute over missing funds at the Britannica Group.
Turnquest was the former FNM MP for the Malcolm Creek constituency and was elected to Parliament in the 1992 general elections.
