Nassau, Bahamas — Some times this writer wonders how in the hell we got so NASTY in this town. So NASTY, that we would pollute the entire environment all around us with our filthy trashy ways. For the past six [6] months now, this vehicle have sat and has begun to rot along Carmichael’s busy roadway [Opposite the Islamic Centre]. The car is being vandalized with its tire missing and emblems disappearing each day, but who’s checking? Its just some old car sitting in the median of the roadway, and so who cares?
Well, we care! And we are sick and tired of these type of NASTY eyesores, turning the highway into another ‘DUTTY’ junk yard. How did we get like this? And where are the people of the department of the environment who are PAID to take care of these things? Is it now the law for someone to abandon a car in the middle of the road for SIX months and that’s it?
The first order of the “Change Government” should be to FIRE EVERY CITATION OFFICER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND replace them with 200 brand new officers, who are ready to write tickets and order 30-day removals on abandoned property left alongside the streets. It would be swift in setting up an environmental court to take on citation trials 24 – 7. If this country is really tourist dream, how in the hell do we allow this kind of junk to pop up all over the place?
