Grand Bahama man robbed on the beach in Lucaya area

Police are searching for two suspects who they want to question in connection with an armed robbery.

The incident reportedly occurred around 7:30pm on Friday 27th June 2014, on a beach in the Lucaya area, a man reported that he was approached by a male whom he described as medium built, 5’4” in height, wearing a red shirt with black stripe and a dark colored pants with a low haircut along with a female who was described as dark complexion, short hair, wearing a short black top with a short black pants held him at bay with a pocket knife and demanded cash. He was robbed of $35.00 in cash. They both fled the area on foot.

Police are actively investigating this matter.

FLYING SQUAD OFFICERS MAKE FIREARM ARREST

Nassau, Bahamas – Three men ages 30, 22, and 21 are in custody after they were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm on Saturday 28th June 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am on Saturday 28th June 2014, Officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a Mercedes Benz vehicle at Mini Street occupied by the three suspects and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear court early this week to be formally charged.

SUSPECT ARRESTED SHORTLY AFTER SHOOTING INCIDENT

A 25 – year old man of Pride Estates is in custody following a shooting incident on Saturday 28th June 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 5:00pm, a 23 – year old man was repairing a vehicle at Montgomery Avenue off Carmichael Road, when get got into an argument with the suspect who is one of his customers.

The suspect left the scene and returned shortly afterwards with a shotgun. The suspect fired two shots at the victim and sped off in in a black Honda vehicle.

The victim received two gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

A short while later police arrested the suspect who was outfitted with a court issued electronic monitoring device, at Goodman’s Bay in connection with this incident.

MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS MAKE FIREARM ARREST

According to reports, shortly after 12:00midnight on Sunday 29th June 2014, Mobile Division officers acting on intelligence, went to Market and Poinciana Drive, where they conducted a search of a 27 –year old man of Pastel Gardens and found an imitation handgun in his possession. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Investigation continues.

FIREARMS TRACING AND INVESTIGATION UNIT OFFICERS NAB ARMED ROBBERY

According to reports, shortly after 3:00am on Sunday 29th June 2014, Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit Officers acting on intelligence, went to Faith Avenue South, where they arrested a 21 – year old man in connection with an armed robbery that took place early this month.
