BP has identified the victim as Cranston Wilson of Gregory Town
Gregory Town, Eleuthera — Bahamas Press is reporting another deadly traffic fatality on the island in Eleuthera and police are investigating its circumstances.
BP can report one man died around 4am this morning after his motorcycle crashed on Queen’s Highway in the community of Gregory Town.
We have identified the victim as Gregory Town resident, Cranston Wilson.
He collided into a Ford Expedition vehicle, which was from the Bluff travelling north on a hill approaching the Glass Window Bridge when the accident happened. The impact resulted in Wilson receiving serious injuries and violent lacerations. He was pronounced dead on the scene by the island’s doctor.
Police Traffic Department officials out of the capital are already on the ground putting the pieces to this latest fatality together.
Following the incident Minister for Transport Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin commented expressing her condolences and sounded warnings of caution to motorists and pedestrians saying, “I call on all road users to be extremely careful while driving, riding or walking on the streets of the nation.
“Please do not speed; please do not drink and drive, if necessary, designate a sober driver: exercise extreme caution when overtaking. Do not text or what’sapp while behind the wheel; motorcyclists should wear helmets; pedestrians should be very aware of their surroundings for their own protection. Care should be exercised no matter the time of day or night.”
