  1. Kudos to the hardworking men of Spanish Wells. With catches like the one shown in that clip, they can help to feed the masses of Bahamians. Farmers to their thing and fishermen do theirs.

When you think of it, Spanish Wells is a small community of approximately 1800 people. They have produced a number of craw-fishermen who are responsible for much of this Country’s total ($) exports.

Canesfins can probably put a dollar figure on what the export total has been over the years.

  2. Forrester, you are correct, however, the last couple of years have been tough with the price of crawfish dropping like a rock. But, they are generally hard working and business minded, this is why you have seen their concentration on fish over the summer months, times when other Bahamians did not want to go get fish.

  3. LET’S FACE IT, BP, SPANISH WELLS BAHAMIANS ARE A DIFFERENT BREED. THEY SEEM TO HAVE ALWAYS WORKED HARD AND LIVED WELL; IN THE TIMES OF PLENTY AND THE TIMES OF LITTLE. I COMMEND THEIR INDEPENDENT SPIRIT.
