Hubert Ingraham in error voted NO to the sale of BTC to CWC. The PM quickly resinded his vote and said yes. The PM forced Parliament to erupt into loud outbursts as the leader of the government appeared confused in the House.

BP the tape of PAPA voting no is priceless but I no longer see it on this site .Are you able to tell me where I can find it?I am convinced God spoke through Papa so I need to hear the tape again.Many persons are saying Papa was texting on his blackberry but thats untrue as the speaker tried to send Shane Gibson to hell for using his laptop in HOA.Please resend or guie me to where I can find it as my grandchildren who are yet unborn need to see the power of God.

So clearly is that that when anyone gets too much power they become tempted to use it only for themselves and do anything to hold onto it. When you are willing to do anything to hold onto power, that is when you become corrupted.The use of power to impose one’s will on another is an option position alone wrongly affords all too many individuals.   5. Now that BTC is sold we should get better service from it’s employees. Now on to other things like an increase in minimum wage, the death penalty, addressing crime, immigration and Education. The party that addresses these issues positively and stop pointing fingers will certainly get me and my household’s vote.

    THE FNM HAS NOT ANSWERED SEVERAL KEY QUESTIONS SURROUNDING THIS BTC SALE MATTER. I WILL LIST SEVERAL OF THEM FOR YOU TO ANSWER FOR US. WE MUST ASSUME THAT YOU ARE GUIDED BY “REASON” AND “INFORMATION” IF YOUR POSITION IS TO B E ACCEPTABLE TO OTHER PEOPLE JUST LIKE YOU (RIGHT – HA, HA, HA).

    HERE GOES:-

    (1) WHEN DID C&W COME TO THE TABLE?

    WAS IT BEFORE THE FIRST BIDDING SESSWION WAS CLOSED OR WAS IT AFTER THE ENTIRE BIDDING PROCESS WAS CLOSED. YOU ARE HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, SO I DON’T HAVE TO CONVINCE YOU THAT IT WOULD BE INAPPRORIATE FOR C&W TO COME TO THE TABLE AFTER, I REPEAT, “AFTER” THE FORMAL BIDDING PROCESS ENDED. AND IF THERE WAS NOTHING “WRONG” WHY WON’T THE FNM ANSWER THIS QUESTION?

    (2) WHY DIDN’T THE FNM MEMBERS ESPOUSE THE VIRTUES OF THE FINANCIAL BENEFITS OF THIS SALE AND THE TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES OF THIS SALE (THEY CLAIMED THAT SUCH EXIST AT THE RALLY)? THEY SPENT THEIR TIME TALKING ABOUT “BLUE WATERS”. I DIDN’T REALIZE THAT BLUE WATERS AND C&W HAD OFFERED THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THE COMPANY UP TO NOW AND THE DEBATE WAS ABOUT WHICH COMPANY TO GO WITH IN 2011. THAT IS THE ONLY PREMISE UPON WHICH THE COMPARISONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE (I WAS UNDER THE FOOLISH NOTION THAT THE DEBATE WAS ABOUT 51% OF THE SALE OF BTC SHARES TO C&W AND NOT TO BLUE WATERS – SILLY ME)?

    THE EXTENT TO WHICH YOUR PARTY (FNM) GOES TO SELL US (THE PUBLIC) ON THEIR DECISISON FOR SELLING BTC WILL REVEAL THEIR DESPERATION AND EXPOSE THE FOLLY – KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN.

  8. So, BTC is sold. Now what? Will crime come down, will BEC reduce their rates, will the roads gets repaired?. The point is,the FNM has sold a national asset even after the PM stated that URCA was behaving in a way which might indicate a conflict of interest.I have been around long enough to give history lessons to Bahamians. But, Bahamians are not interested in the past, thats why we keep making the same mistakes.But,thats okay;when the time comes to pay the bill for all of the nonsense we have done in the name of politics, and for cheaper telephone minutes to gossip with, we will be the laughing stock of the Caribbean

  9. @Bahamian, the BTC transaction is successfully finalized so just please stop! This decision is one will remembered as a great move by the PM. I do appreciate how Christie was trying to distance himself from decisions that were made by his very own Cabinet, which included the likes of Bradley Roberts who was a previous owner of Nassau Flight, which held a monopoly at the then NIA. Guess he was trying to get his cronies to get the upper hand on BTC. Man these people have to stop! How could some Bahamians still have the nerve to support the PLP when it shows that their decision making is questionable as far as Blue Water was concerned. Additionally, nobody talking bout how the PLP was gonna build that Straw Market for almost twice the price!

    • See the problem with us bahamain is that we to like to look back was the deal made with the PLP no it is now been made by the FNM so what is the problem stop the name and blame game bahamains it is now FNM trun to make decisions not the PLP so let go and why are we so quick to knock down our own people what make us not qualify to own big companies in our country we alway like when strangers come and take us over when we should fight for ourseleves they don’t care about us they only want our money and when things get worst they take our money and run like a bat out of hell and then we stuck with the bill if it PLP or FNM somebody other than the stranger will be blame it time to start working together not apart.

  10. 4g aint free and it aint going to be cheap.
    So, why would anyone care about 4G? If you want to fool a Bahamian just put something in writing talk a little fancy talk and you have them hook line and sinker. Most of us don’t know what is the meaning of the “g” in 4g. Most of us don’t know what is IPV4 or IPV6 or broadband not to mention bandwidth. C&W reminds me of a used car salesman. BP can you simply post C&W data plans and the prices. If they charged you one flat rate for data or they allow you a certian amount of data per month. 4g is not fully implmented in the US. I gurantee their network is not 4g. I read an article and what I found interesting was the fact that 4g is very expensive Who cares?
    So, why would anyone care about 4G? Come on – you can’t fool me – if you’re reading Christian

    while Sprint allows unlimited 4G use (but caps you at
    5GB per month on their 3G network). Sprint’s Clearwire
    subsidiary is offering unlimited 4G service for
    $49.99 (but apparently without the ability to roam onto
    Sprint’s 3G network). I believe that unlimited is an
    important differentiator for 4G, and one that is hard for
    the carriers to match on 3G because of the significantly

  11. There is a saying: What is in the blood will work out through the skin. Maybe the Prime Minister is not for this bad deal with Cable & Wireless and that is why, he voted NO yesterday until, the shock look on Brent and his other ministers face shamed him into voting Yes.

I’m really puzzled at this debate because with all the conflicts with URCA (headed by C&W former CEO) and the fact that the other bidders didn’t get a chance to bid on the same deal as C&W who was offered 51% while other bidders was offered 49% all speaks to serious legal flaws in the sale. Yet this is able to go through the parliamentary process. This really speaks to serious crimes at the highest levels while poor people can do nothing about it because they can’t afford to pay for the legal battle. BUT this is really wrong. We have become a dictatorship without even realizing it…WOW
