Hubert Ingraham is staying on and is set to return back to Parliament
Nassau, Bahamas — Breaking News reaching Bahamas Press now confirms that former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham’s delay to step down as MP for North Abaco is due to circumstances beyond his control.
The decision by the former PM was known by BP only days following the general elections when current Chairman of the FNM said that Leader Dr. Minnis and Deputy Loretta Butler-Turner only had one year to prove themselves. A dumb statement indeed by a national chairman!
Ingraham told the nation he will step down on July 19th, which is this week Thursday. However, staunch FNM supporters and party officials want him to remain on as leader and join debates in the Parliament. From all accounts Hubert Ingraham has acceded to that request.
Hours after being elected to the North Abaco constituency for an 8th time, but rejected as Prime Minister in the defeat of his Party for a second time, The Rt. Hon. Hubert Ingraham gave notice that he intended to resign as an M.P. and as Leader of the Free National Movement.
He also told the country he will not take his seat in Parliament, but on the day of the opening of Parliament, Mr. Ingraham was being sworn in. What changed his mind?
The Progressive Liberal Party was returned to office on the night of the announcement following the May 7th 2012 General Elections.
HUBERT INGRAHAM IS COMING BACK!!!!!
