Nassau, Bahamas — Ryan Pinder has won the majority of the votes in the by-election in Elizabeth. Nevertheless, this morning Duane Sands was on Bahamas at Sunrise punch drunk telling the public, he’s the member–elect for Elizabeth, far from it.
- 1) No winner has been declared in the Elizabeth by- election.
- 2) Ryan Pinder has polled 1504 votes Duane Sands has polled 1501
- 3) An Election court is necessary to determine a winner because 5 of the voters who cast their votes for Pinder votedprotest ballot and only the court can therefore, investigate those voters and declare a winner. on a
For what reason the candidate of the FNM would stand on the TV and LIE about his status following the election is dangerously undemocratic and shamefully distasteful.
Sands’ appearance on Bahamas at Sunrise this morning proves he’s dumber than hot grits and is as equally arrogant and irresponsible as his mad man leader Hubert Ingraham.
In 2008 Supreme Court Senior Justice Anita Allen and Justice Jon Isaacs, who presided over the Pinewood election court case, noted in their ruling that certain procedures ought to be put in place to ensure the integrity of the register. The justices labeled the department as having “egregious failures”.
However, Ingraham’s response to the justices was that nothing is wrong with the process and that the FNM had won the government fear and square. Ingraham did nothing to rectify the problems.
When Bahamas Press raised concerns over the fact that some 700 persons on the register in Elizabeth could not be found it was Hubert Ingraham who said publicly he had all the confidence in the world in the integrity of the register. His candidate said he saw nothing wrong with the register and agreed he was going with it. And from day one of the discoveries of PLP election manager, Bernard Nottage, wrote an epistle arguing over the integrity of the register in the constituency.
However, now that young Ryan Pinder numbers have exceeded Sands, suddenly something is wrong with the register and the department.
Bahamas Press warned Ingraham in October 2007 about our concerns about the Parliamentary Commissioner and his department. He fired everyone but kept Errol Bethel in place.
So now don’t complain Hubert, take ya lickings like a man!

You rasied the issue of cost as it pertained to accomadation not me. I was simply rebutting your idea by saying that those cost wouldnt be as such seeing that the 5 voters involved lives on the island where the trial will take place.

Raah, the cost shouldnt be that high in this case as the 5 voters in question live in NP and not any of the Family islands. So The cost of traveling and accommodation should will be nil.
Secondly Raah, STATUS may be an issue for Hubert Ingraham, but in this challenge it is not the issue before the court.
The court is being asked to certify a winner in the election in Elizabeth that is all. Now if the FNM has issues with status, ballots, the registered list, then they can take that up with the Election Court after Ryan Pinder is SEATED as the MP.
We are certain he and his team don’t mind entertaining all the silliness Ingraham perpetrated in the head of a now desperate Ingraham in an attempt to avoid having been declared DEFEATED BY PERRY CHRISTIE! LOLOLOLOLOL!
It is amazing one day the FNM say they don’t believe elections are won in the court, and now they say Oh we gat plenty to tell the court. Desperate people say and do DESPERATE things. I guess the alleged Chief Justice advise is showing the public just how DUMB Ingraham really is.

Who say they must appear? There addresses and location must be verified and status in the country satisfied in the country. Yinner forget these people would have bills in their names ech?
And who defies an order of the court to appear before it? Failure to do so means you have placed yourself in contempt. Yinner know what that means. Don’t let papa put garbage in ya head. The people will show if requested by the court. They will be summoned if we come to that hurdle.

Why are you men and women still distorting what the current Law is? Simply having an entitlement to US citizenship does not provide estoppel to hold a seat in Parliament. Actively taking advantage of such entitlement may though, but that will be determined in the preliminary hearing when it will be put that Ryan Pinder does not have any standing to pursue this matter. Let us wait for this process to play out, before you frighten the 5 into not even showing up to Court, which would be unfortunate…
