The following is a release by the Progressive Liberal Party:
The PLP is reviewing all of the statements by Zhivargo Laing MP, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance with regard to his role in the reduction of the rate of duty on the drink ‘Mona Vie’.
We are examining not just his most recent statement to the House of Assembly, but all statements that he has made, in light of the information which we have. His most recent statement to the House on Monday 10th March raises troubling questions about his conduct and the government’s support of that conduct.
We again call for Mr. Laing to make full disclosure in this matter. The Party intends to address the matter more fully in a news conference following the completion of our initial review.
