Ellison Greenslade taking charge of the Royal Bahamas Police Force from former Commissioner Reginald Ferguson on January 4th. More changes to come as an investigation now underway reveals shocking details.
Nassau, Bahamas — In less than four days Bahamas Press brings to you another breaking story. We are getting closer to the details of the teenager who committed suicide Sunday before last. We brought you the details of the Public Squander and outright ‘THIEF-IN’ at the Department of Environmental Health. We warned you about the cockeyed ways of a FNM mercenary named Peter Carey and we warned you of how the Royal Bahamas Police Force hid the news of a home invasion incident last week Wednesday involving Rupert Roberts. But today Bahamas Press has something for you our loyal readers, which will shake the foundations of the newly formed central command of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
Shocking revelations now pouring into BP suggest the Force will have a need to quickly undergo drastic changes as an investigation now unfolding inside the RBPF suggests that another police officer has landed in deep, deep trouble.
BP today is standing quarter guard at the entrance of the RBPF head office on the top of East Street hill as treasury officials along with investigators from the second floor of the Church Hill Building and Sir Cecil Wallace Whitefield Centre in the OPM uncovers an alleged plot by a senior officer of the force to raid funds from the RBPF stockpiled bank accounts.
This information now onto our news desks is indeed sensitive and could force a nationwide manhunt for BP. Here is what we know.
A senior officer in-charge of all bank accounts of the RBPF could possibly find himself on the wrong side of the law. BP knows the responsibility to oversee the books rested in the hands of the officer. He over saw the Band Account, the Senior Officers Account and all Lab accounts in the institution.
Treasury officials have also uncovered information, which suggest that the said officer was in addition responsible for many contractual arrangements entered thereto by the RBPF particularly uniform agreements for officers and material for recruits.
A senior officer in the OPM told us, “If you follow the trail of paperwork, which we are doing, you will find the officer now in question without questions allegedly received kickback in many of the deals entered by the Force.”
Bahamas Press can also reveal the officer in question and now under these latest investigations rocking the Ingraham Administration is indeed a relative of the Minister of National Security and presently lives in a pristine upscale–gated community in eastern New Providence.
Treasury officials also reveal officers have allegedly uncovered a barrage of RBPF supplies in the officer’s home, including expensive tiles ordered for the new facility of the RBPF conference room on East Street, in the home of the officer.
Treasury officials also tell us several funds earmarked for the Force has ended up in the bank accounts of a private school here in the capital – a school in which the officer as ties. Investigators also tell us funds set aside for Police to borrow and draw-down from in times of emergency has found its way into the hand on persons who have never spent a day in their life on the force. It is also alleged the said officer approved loans from the fund to friends.
This one is serious and boards on the scale of RANK CORRUPTION!
Bahamas Press therefore, upon hearing news of this fluid investigation asks the following questions to the TOP BRASS of the RBPF:
- 1) When was an audit last made on the funds and bank accounts of the RBPF?
- 2) What is the name of the company contracted by the RBPF to supply police vests and bulletproof jackets?
- 3) Has the High Command identified the individual[s]/company accepting a commission on these supplies and if yes, who receives that commission?
- 4) When will this investigation be revealed in detail and be allowed to report the matter in the mainstream media?
- 5) Will the new Commissioner call for the “weak” officer to step down from the RBPF?
We are told the situation now unfolding has gripped the full attention of Commissioner Greenslade – who is determined we are told – to get to the bottom of the situation.
