Nassau, Bahamas — Bahamas Press has lately been breaking news and from what we understand, serious, INDEED SERIOUS questions are pointing to the leadership of the Free National Movement Government.
Sources in the position to know tell us at least two of the six men, who entered into the law chambers of Bamboo Town MP, Branville McCartney, and allegedly administered threats of death on his life are in police custody.
Sources tell us the men; ‘Mighty’ Moncur and Livingstone Bullard are both being held at the East Street South Police Station, as they are extensively quizzed at this hour by detectives. One of the men a 30 year-old resides in Sir Lynden Pindling Estates while the other is a resident of Seven Hill.
Our legal expert in the area of criminal law suggests, “The men may be arraigned on charges of: threats of death and threats of harm on the MP. They may possibly be slapped with a trespassing charge as well.
“If they plead guilty, both could spend anywhere from 12 to 18 months in jail. If they plead not guilty, both will be given bail, and could possibly be fitted and monitored with the anklet bracelet. Additionally, both suspects could be forced to sign-in at a police station.”
BP can tell you both men were captured live on camera along with others entering the MP’s Village Road offices and is alleged to administered threats of death on the Parliamentarian.
BP can confirm one of the men turned himself into police shortly after a photo release became available. Officers of the CID later picked up a second suspect a short time afterward.
McCartney in speaking with the media stated earlier today he wants to see the men brought to justice and charged with the alleged crime. “They should be charged and brought before the courts and sent to jail,” the MP said.
In a twist of things, we have been reliably informed that the men, one who carries the nickname “Spartacus”, is a known henchman to the MP for Sea Breeze. “Spartacus” also lives in the Sea Breeze area and was recently granted a contract by the Free National Movement Government in the area.
Bahamas Press also note one of the goons is said to have a relationship with a relative of the Sea Breeze MP, which ties a connection to the Chairman FNM.
You would remember the same group of mischief-makers and death threat worriers, lead chaos at the recent Bamboo Town Meeting on the sale of BTC to Cable and Wireless. We are told one of the men now in police custody, was present at that event. This is interesting.
Bahamas Press therefore, put the following questions into the public domain for someone in the Government/FNM PARTY to answer:
– Was THE FNM Chairman involved in any way with death threats administered by goons known to him?
– If Yes, did the former Cabinet Minister act alone?
– Did anyone in the Government indeed the Cabinet Aided and Abetted the alleged CRIMINAL exercise?
– Why has the Minister of National Security refused to speak to the threatening incidents?
– Was the Prime Minister aware of any of the shenanigans? If Yes, Why has he refused to speak to the issue publicly?
– Was he privy to any plans, motives, and concoctions by any member of his party to disrupt the meetings at the Bamboo Town BTC Town Meeting?
– When will the Prime Minister, The Minister of National Security or the Chairman of the FNM denounce the actions by known operatives of the Party for committing threats of death on the Bamboo Town MP?
These are serious questions, which are being put on notice for the world to see. Nassau has GONE FUNKY as one would say and we demand answers!
Bahamas Press calls from a public inquiry into these events and we too have since strengthened our security detail following these tragic revelations.
Sad to know that MP B. Mc Cartney had to experience such a thing but it all makes up life and if he were no body then he would not have been attacked by those two simple men. I can personally assure you that the average politician wish they possessed the people skills that I have acquired over the years. Real people do real things. @ Mr. Omar Archer, seems like the police should be asking you some serious questions as, you appear to have connections on both sides of this very serious issue. I remember, Mr. Bodie being picked up for questioning for something less. If this man’s life was threatened I feel,anyone knowing anything, should pass information on to the the proper authorities. Putting it out here like this I wonder if it is to warn the individual or, to put more fear in him. Our little country is sinking fast and I pray that we as a people come to our senses before it is too late.
I happen to know Mighty AKA ‘Spidy’ very well. He is a very intelligent young man. I am stunned to see what he has done. He’s also very good friends with Attorney John Boswick. This is truly out of Mighty’s character. The real questions are, Why did he do this? & Who put him up to it?
To make matters worst I just yesterday received information that Branville’s life is still in serious danger now that this has happened. I was told that he is being watched and monitored. Certain people are waiting for him to go to his weekly hangout out west opposite St. Alban’s drive to harm him. I was told he frequents this spot every Sunday after 6pm.
You all know Branville is my boy so I had to give him the heads up on that immediately… That fact remains, this country is riddled with corrupt officials who would do whatever it takes to eliminate anyone who poses a threat to them and their power.
Mind you, Mighty is my friend as well, but he has committed a grave mistake. Branville you must be very careful my friend, because the people who are monitoring your moves are 10 times more serious than Mighty. So just b careful my brother. What did they say to him. He obviously was not afraid of them having invited them back to his office. And i believe that our laws prevents voice recording from being admissible in court unless there was a warrant. He may have acquired the warrant before inviting them back to repeat what they had said, who knows. The problem with this country and why we continue to be so backward and corrupt is because there are to many secrets. The police dont share any information they hold these things to close to their chest rather than releasing the information such as what was said that warranted the arrest of these men. They will go to court and the case will be dismissed because Bran won’t testify or what was said can not considered treats of death. So BP speak to their lawyers to ascertain what was said, I would like to know.

Some unscrupulous looking type of people and crack heads used to hang up around that FNM Sea Breeze Headquarter. Now, before I started hearing disturbing things about Carl Bethel, I used to wonder why he use to allow them to hang up there.

They were all over the place in front of Thelma Gibson school adorning fnm shirts trying to intimadate voters and the guys from Elizabeth Estates who were pro PLP. This was so dangerous as tempers started to flare between the boys from lizzy and the Nassau Village boys. I told him (carl Bethel) to his face how irresponsible that was for a sitting member of government to intentionally incite a potential riot. The Nassau Village boys had no business in Elizabeth Estates that day other that to cause problems on behalf of the FNM. So you see Mr. Carl Bethel could be the cheif gangster in the Bran McCartney matter and probably is.

B.P. I knew you would get to the bottom of this story as always. Where is Carl Bethel by the way? When the story broke about Renward Wells declining the PM’s offer to join the FNM he was all over the media refuted the story and giving their version of events. Now something more serious has arisen with serious implications Mr. Bethel is uncharacteristically silent on this matter. I wonder why?

This is indicitave of the FNM using a goon squad during election time to muscle anyone whom they feel is a threat to the party. One such incident is the Perpall Track incident. Has the Law enforcement *(then) investigated the matter properly , this party might not have been around to repeat what is now going on.
