Million Dollar drug Bust in Southern Bahamas

DRUG BUST

Sometime around 9pm on Wednesday 26th May 2010, DEU, Exuma Marine Support unit, DEA and US Coast Guard acting on information discovered a vessel with two males in the Ragged Island area. On seeing the OPBAT  response team, both men jettison the contraband into the sea and made good their escape. Officers where able to secure forty-two (42) bags of suspected marijuana which has since been flown to the capital. The suspected marijuana has a combined weight of one thousand, three hundred and ninety-six (1396 lbs).  No  arrest have been made in this incident, however, investigations continue.  The drugs have a street value of One million, three hundred and ninety-six thousand dollars ($1,396,000).

STABBING

Sometime around 1:35 pm on Thursday 27th May, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Seymour Street, Yellow Elder Gardens.  Police responded and information received a male got into an altercation with a female known to him, which resulted in him being stabbed to the neck with an ice pick.  The male was taken to hospital via EMS where he is listed in stable condition.  Police have taken a 21 year old female of Princess Court, Yellow Elder into custody.  Police are investigating.
