Omar Archer Sr.
Bahamas Press is concern about of the level of violence in the country today. And when writers, judges, court prosecutors and GOOD police officers become the targets of criminals all know, The Bahamas is headed on a downhill collision course. A course like the Rwandan Genocide, where drug and gun totting gangs toppled the working of law and order in the society.
Omar Archer Sr. a vocal radical in the country and fellow blogger on Bahamas Press was shot in a drive-by shooting in the Nassau Village area over the weekend. Archer’s radical stand against the ‘Crooked Officers’ in the Royal Bahamas Police Force is believed to be reason for him being a target. One can only wonder what is Nassau coming to, when person after person can be gunned down in this fashion and the society turns a blind eye to it. Not even Perry Christie’s PLP denounced the attack on Archer’s life, a former candidate for Chairman in that party.
Bahamas Press denounces this wicked assault on Archer and arguably decry the silence following it. The Bahamas has changed and the criminals (some in uniform) are creating mayhem and terror in this country. New targets today are journalist and vocal persons. A few months ago the Rev. Simeon B. Hall received death threats, as he spoke to murders in the country. And today writers and activists are now new targets of drive-by, as seen with Archer, a contributing blogger of Bahamas Press.
We however are committed to this ground war, we are NOT suicidal in any way. But in soundness of mind and heart believe it is time to TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK! And yes we know blood will flow in us doing this mission. For we are committed to you, our thousands of loyal readers who believe in our message and hope for the same, in a Better and Brighter Bahamas.
Unwavering to this cause, yes Bahamas Press says, “CHANGE WILL COME!!!”
