  1. THEY DONT CARE BOUT US CAUSE THEY HAVE THE POLICE AT THERE HOME DRIVEIN THEN FROM POINT A TO B THE POLICE GO PICK UP THERE CHILDRENS AND WIFE THEY DONT CARE IF YOUR CHIL GET KILL BECAUSE THEY ONLY NEED US EVERY 5 YEARS AND THIS IS YEAR 3 SO 1 MORE YEAR BEFOR THEY GA NEED US AGAIN

  2. I knew this was coming when the now government decided not to invest in youth of our country, i am talking about when they put a stop to the urban renewal projects in most of the problem area in our society and stop the program in Andros for boys who need some direction in their lives. Mr. Christie realized that if you invested in them it would slow down the progress of crime, which is evident now. I am now FNM nor PLP, but blind blake could analyze what we are faced with now. When those project for the youth were in full force and the police and defence force were fully back in these programs crime did not come to a stop but slowed down tremendously. It now the Government decision to fine a way to curve the minds of the up coming youth. Remember most of the children today are from single parent homes and need some guardians.

  3. I agree with The Rose and LANA,everyone wants to blame the government for everything that is happening in our country today which i feel is ridiculous.People need to realize that times are changing and with time ppl change and situations change.Recession is everywhere things tuff every where not just in the bahamas.Quit blaming the government and hold urself accountable for ur every action.

  4. No one should speculate on the guy who was shot. The point is someone is willing to kill a baby they need to be hanged from the tallest tree forget that hang them from the bridge. You can only be merciful for so long and these guys have no fear of the law. PLP come to power more crime. FNM stays in power more crime. We need enforcement of the law to reduce crime. I say HANG THEM ALL enough talk.

  5. The baby is the real victim here. Sad. Really sad. I just wish that the sins of the fathers stop right there at the feet of the fathers so that the offspring can at least have a chance for a decent life.

  6. My heart goes out to the little baby that was caught up in these mafia style killings.Prayers goes forward to this Pearl, and hopefully the baby will be giving more time with us,in Jesus Grace,Amen.

  7. The government ca not be held responsible for crime,we all have to be responsible for our own actions. The government does have to demonstrate a constructive plan to deal with criminals and their actions. Instead of the PLP making political noise about crime, they should work with the present government to say as Bahamians we wont take this anymore.

  8. We as a society need to take responsibility for the values we are teaching our children at home. We must stop pointing fingers at the government, the judicial system, the schools etc. Parents need to play a greater role in their children’s education by attending P.T.A’s, developing a relationship with their teachers, supervising them with home work etc. Also, we must all build confidence and self-esteem in our children; negative attitudes and behaviour are destroying our nation. “Death and life is in the power of the tongue.'” Take your family to church and “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

  9. you are definitely right, the responsibility lays at the feet of the present government, the hell with who did this and who did that Bahamian people are sick and tired of this crime element Hubert Ingraham needs to get rid of that lousy Tommy Turquest,we do not owe sir Orville anything get rid of his lousy son.

  10. Uh… if both guys, the shooter and the shot, are both criminals already, then does this still really qualify as a “crime”? It’s more like inevitable. Which one is really innocent? It’s a shame it happened in the parking lot with the baby but the fact remains it was not random and would have happened anyway.

  11. Contrary to initial reports this incident did not initiate within the property of Solomon’s Super Centre. The incident began on Soldier and Abundant Life Road and the vehicle involved was driven to a parking lot that faces onto the main parking lot of Solomon’s.

  12. JOBS. That’s what we need.

Yes there are crimes against criminal elements, but, law abiding citizens are robbed and raped everd day in this country. Citizens are living in fear. It is the job of the Government to get it under control, no matter how they do it.. Get it done. Nothing political, get it done.

The Government needs to create jobs for the poeple of this country.

We are dealing with a broken youth ministry, broken education ministry, broken national security ministry, and a broken health care ministry. The bad thing is people are still defending the Government. The Government is failing it’s people. At least that’s how I see it.

Mind you, whichever Government was in power at this time, we will still have problems. But, the Government of today need to fix it.

  13. It is quiet sad to see in my beloved Bahamas that we cannot all get along. Crime I agree is not a political issue unless the politician makes it political. If we look back in the 2002 elections the Hon. Tommy Turnquest on a political platform said “If you want to get rid of crime then get rid of the PLP” most persons bought into that statement including me. By that very statement in that very forum he made it a political issue. In my opinion every murder that is occurring now rest in the hands of the politician. They control the legislature so they have the power to do what is needed. We need to wakeup and stand firm and stop this political tribilism. Hold all politicians feet to the fire especially when they make brash political statements.

  14. why is it as the murder rate continues to climb everyone wants to blame the current government (whether FNM or PLP) why dont we put politics aside and see what is happening governments come and governments go but yet people are still being murdered. We cant blame a govermnent we must start taking responsibility as ciitizens. No one opens thier mouth when thier family member is the one killing, raping and robing. It isnt until its thier family member laying on the floor with blood flowing that all of a sudden people have somethign to say. Its so easy to blame the FNM or blame the PLP but no government or police force can clean up this country. For the Bahamas to be better citizens have to start being doing better and stop closing our eyes and turning our heads when we see crime happening in our own homes. Parents need to be parents and stop being co-conspiritors

  15. FNM or PLP need to understand that crime is progressive element….armed robberies then murders, then witness protection however the next progress step will involve judical and political intimidation ie assasinations and kidnappings…ask the mexican or colombians…so them putting their heads in the sand now …they will reap serious consequences later

  16. Hang violent criminals in the public square! Or better yet, let’s use the Guillotine! Enough of this SHIT! Broadcast it on ZNS and Cable for these little pieces of crap to see!

  17. The FNM government cannot stop known thugs from killing each other. The Justice system is the real culprit. both governments before didn’t appoint enough justices to hear cases and the Attorney Generals was unable to bring matters to court in a timely manner. In any event Justices should never grant bail to murder suspects especially those known to police and have other outstanding crimes on file. Atleast now, the Government has put a speed on getting the courts on Nassau St. open and the appointment of new justices with a new prosecuter head at the Attorney Generals office, we should see cases quickly brought to justice and hopfully murderers could be quickly jailed for life and even hanged for their waste of having a life

  18. BP, GIVE ME ONE REASON WHY THE FNM IS STILL SEATED AS THE GOVERNMENT OF THIS COMMONWEALTH. THEY HAVE ANSWERS TO NOTHING; NOT THE ECONOMY; NOT CRIME; NOT SCHOOL VIOLANCE; NOT THE HEALTH OF THE NATION; NOT A DAMN THING. MOST OTHER COUNTRIES THEY WOULD HAVE FALLEN BY NOW BECAUSE IN THOSE STATES WHERE DEMOCRACY MEANS NOTHING THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A COUP ALREADY AND IN THE OTHERS WHERE DEMOCRATIC IDEALS ARE RESPECTED SOMEWHAT, MASS DEMONSTRATIONS AND CITIZEN UPRISINGS WOULD HAVE DRIVEN THEM OUT OF OFFICE A LONG TIME AGO. THEY ARE CLUELESS AND I AM BEING KIND TO THEM.
