Haitian Nationals pick up voter’s cards but cannot speak English

Nassau, Bahamas – Breaking News coming into Bahamas Press raises greater concerns about the Parliamentary Commissioner’s office.

Sources in the OPM tell us they are concerned with the huge number of newly minted Bahamians now registering at the election centers.

Armed with a supply of new passports and citizenship papers, Hubert Ingraham is selling the Bahamas through the back door.

We can confirm today, scores of residents speaking not one word of English were seen picking up voter’s cards at the registration office.

We can also report that the scores of creole-speaking individuals picking up voter’s cards hail mainly from Garden Hills, Tall Pines, Carmichael, Bains and Grants Town, Englerston, Bamboo Town and Golden Isles.

Sweet Mickey and Papa together again.

Meanwhile, the developments have gotten the Bains and Grants Town DNA candidate upset after a creole-speaking voter told Rodney Moncur to rollout while showing his new voter’s card.

Initially the Bains and Grants Town resident was supporting the DNA candidate, however, following the visit by embattled Haitian President Sweet Mickey Martelly last week, that resident has dumped the DNA and has returned to the FNM.

While the Prime Minister told reporters that Sweet Mickey was headed to Brazil when he stopped in the Bahamas, Brent Symonette said he was headed home to Haiti when the request was made for a stop in Nassau. But to make matters even more confusing, Zhivargo Laing told members of the media Martelly was headed to Mexico when the request to stop in the Bahamas was made. Apparently NO one knows.

What we at Bahamas Press do know is this: while the PM suggested Sweet Mickey informed the Bahamian government about a stop the Saturday before he came, we at BP can confirm arrangements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were made almost two weeks before the visit. The booking to block some 10 rooms in the Hilton hotel in downtown Nassau was made by Brent Symonette’s Foreign Affairs office.

So what does that tell you about the whole ordeal?

Meanwhile the Bains and Grants Town resident told Moncur, “Daddy, no can vote for you no more! I vote for Papa…”

Hubert Ingraham told members of the press he supports the comments of Haitian President Martelly, who told residents to vote for the government who has their interests at heart.

More than 10,000 residents have been granted citizenship since Feb 16th 2010.

We report Yinner decide!
