More than 40 years after we became a sovereign nation, out-houses are still a part of us. This is shameful. More importantly, they are a signficant threat to our environment and by extension our national health.

Slum lords are still preying on the illegal immigrant class by renting to them sub-standard facilities. Additionally, there are just too many of our own citizens renting similar facilities.

In is my view that the state ought to take immediate steps to make outsde toilets extinct. In this regard, landlords and other owners of such facilities, ought to be given a reasonable period of time, say 5 years, to bring their properties up to standard. Failure to do so, should be met with appropriate sanctions. Where possible, the state can lend technical assistance to those wishng to access it.

We can do it!
