DEU MAKE HUGE DRUG BUST, 2 MEN IN CUSTODY
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2016, the courageous officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) has struck another blow in the operations of drug traffickers in the Bahamas, this time with the seizure of a huge quantity of marijuana and the arrest of two suspects on Sunday 26th June 2016.
Reports are that around 9:00am, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on home located at Pikkanoes Estate off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway, where they uncovered 1,389 pounds of marijuana. The two adult male occupants of the home were arrested and taken into custody. The two suspects are expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.
ANOTHER FIREARM SEIZED, TWO FEMALES IN CUSTODY
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Mobile Division took two adult females into custody following the seizure of a handgun on Saturday 25th July 2016.
Reports are that shortly after 9:00am, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence conducted a search of a home located at Palm Tree Avenue, where they uncovered a .40 pistol with 6 rounds of ammunition. The two females were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
