Parker-Edgecombe is on Papa’s line for North Abaco by-election
North Abaco, Bahamas — Breaking News reaching Bahamas Press confirms Hubert Ingraham has indeed gone fishing for a candidate in North Abaco and guess who is caught in his line?
Sources deep in the apparatchik of the FNM tell us that the candidate to watch in the upcoming by-election in North Abaco is the former journalist and candidate for the Western Grand Bahama and Bimini: Pakeisha Parker-Edgecombe.
Shortly after former Prime Minister Ingraham’s announcement of his resigning as the MP for North Abaco, talk swirled that Tommy Turnquest would be the candidate. But Turnquest has slipped into deep bouts of depression, particularly after learning one of his senior generals worked against him in his reelection bid. He has yet to recover.
Sources on the ground tell us a move to have the former broadcaster run in the seat is already taking shape.
Pakeisha, who was defeated by political maverick Obie Wilchcombe, is the daughter-in-law of Abaco contractor and owner of FES Construction. That contractor is also a cousin of Hubert Ingraham.
Like the aristocrats they have become over the past five years, Hubert Ingraham is bent on keeping North Abaco in the family and has advised senior FNMs to make way for the woman he is prepared to back.
But some on Abaco are already unreceptive to the FNM and will move their support from the FNM to PLP candidate Renardo Curry.
Curry, we are told, is ready and is still canvassing the constituency for support.
This time North Abaco could go gold! After all, in a by-election Family Island seats always go to the government.
WE REPORT YINNER DECIDE!
