From the baby to the breast were seen today marching through the streets. Christians hit to the streets in celebration of Palm Sunday today, which begins Holy Week. The day marks Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey. As told in the scriptures, members of the city gathered palm leaves and made a causeway shouting, “HOSANNA! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Days later the same crowd was shouting, “CRUCIFY HIM!” upon hearing of the biblical story we smiled to ourselves as thoughts raced through our heads. One thought suggested, boy they must have been Bahamians when Jesus was around. Another thought said, “Ain’t nothing change ECH?”
Have a great Holy WEEK BP readers. To keep with tradition of the occasion, we would try keep the news on here a bit quiet and less combative and pressure raising.
As we embark upon the most sacret season within the christian calander, we must all reflect on the significance of this time and endeavor to maximize its true meaning and make it applicable to our lives….
To me, easter symobolizes a time of indomitable hope; the rekindling or re-emergence of purpose. Also, it is a time to enlighten our cognizance that no matter how folk may dragg our names in the mudd, take advantage of us, vilify us or even crucify us, we can rise again.
With that analogy in mind, without question, the good people of the Bahamas are going thru a good friday experience. With record foreclosures, company’s becoming insolvent resulting it job losses and unemployment we are down for the count. However, I believe when we are down to nothing, God is up to something.
KEEP HOPE ALIVE BAHAMAS… THIS TOO WILL PASS…
