How Ingraham Treats His MPs
We reported last week how Vernae Grant MP (FNM) for Eight Miles Rock is having a problem securing her nomination from the FNM.
Hubert Ingraham, the Prime Minister and leader of the FNM, reportedly wants someone new in that seat. Perhaps this story which follows is a sign of the times. Mrs. Grant was in the smoking room of the House of Assembly on Wednesday 29th June.
She saw the PM and asked if she could speak to him about something for a minute. “I have something I need to say to you,” she said. The PM turns around and says: “Well if you need to talk to me, call the Prime Minister’s office and make an appointment.” “But I just need to say something here, ” she pleaded. The Prime Minister replied: “If you want to talk to me, you should call the Prime Minister’s office and make an appointment.”
He turned around and left the room. Kendal Wright, the MP (FNM) for Clifton, a man who knows about snubs by the Prime Minister said to the perplexed Mrs. Grant: “I bet you if that was Kay Forbes Smith (the Consul General in Atlanta) he would simply have gone off to the side and spoken to her. ” Amen!
My response to Russell Russell is this:How do we know for sure that this encounter did take place? I am not defending PM Ingraham. My only point is that we are not certain that this BP report is credible.Further, I am surprised that Mrs Grant would take such abuse from anyone,let alone from the Leader of The Bahamas.Let us not attack a straw man that we have made.
Didn’t Brent Symonette Take it? Didn’t Tommy T take IT? Didn’t Charlie Maynard take it today? PLEASE!

Did you read the US Embassy cables about how he belittled his own Brent, his close friend Perry.r is that just a bunch of lies orchestrated by the US government, his friends? I noticed you said absolutely nothing about the 100,000 Haitians?
Now, you know it was not just my single opinion about the man so many of you worship as your “Dear Leader” Papa. Have you ever known of a “Dear Leader” that did not eventually fail the people?
Oh really! Before you latch out at BP as only the messenger, maybe you need to listen in on an actual FNM “one man” Ingraham cabinet meeting so as to personally witness the displayed arrogance of this man for only there; The truth the whole ugly truth and nothing but the ugly truth, so help me God” is on full display.
When Ingraham first come to power I was so happy for our Bahamaland. No so happy with his now out of control affront against anything Bahamian, which by the way was not only clearly certified by the voters in 2002, but knew he had to go before the nation during the 2007 General Elections to apologize to Bahamians for his behavior as Prime Minister. Little did we know that he never meant a word of his apology?
If you think permitting 100,000 illegal Haitians to roam freely throughout our Bahamaland makes any sense then go ahead and reelect this FNM cabinet for another term.
For the sake of Jesus even the Director of Immigration just a few days ago put on a public display of how confused his own immigration officers must be when they are allowed to arrest or not arrest an illegal Haitian.
We already know this FNM cabinet has included in their long list mandated that no immigration officers are permitted to raid their homes or shacks too early in the morning, or too late at night, because it is unfair to disturb their beauty sleep. Folks you can’t make this stuff up if you tried.
Isn’t this the same Prime Minister Ingraham that just a week ago lectured Bahamians over what he perceives as their total their disrespect for females in both the workplace and homes?
It bothers me how a group of grown men and women can continue with their grasp of hoping they can hold onto power so badly, is something some Bahamians should write a best seller book on.
The DPM sits there and takes this abuse yet he is worth some $350,000 million dollars. How much money does it take before a man will stand up yo hold onto his family’s good name of respect? Pop Symonette must be turning in his grave. It’s so embarrassing.
Proven Stupidity! I believe was their campaign slogan. When people are loyal to belief of others to the detriment of their own self-esteem and pride this is what happens. A meager PM pay should not cause you to sell your soul. Amazing what a few dollars can do to the heads of Bahamians.
BP, who told you about this encounter between PM Ingraham and Mrs Grant? I am suspicious about this story. I have a hard time believing that the PM would treat his MPs in such a shabby fashion.Mrs Grant will have to tell me that this incident occurred before I accept this story as gospel. I suspect that you or someone else who has an axe to grind with the PM concocted this story in order to make the PM look bad.

My first thought is,this clown must be blind but then he writes.Where have you been these past 20 years?Papa speaks to everyone who allows it like a dog.Why should an MP who sustains the existence of this PM as head of huis party and country need an appointment to speak with him?If I was her husband I would tell her to go green and forget about Papa.Mrs Cheryl Grant Bethel did not have any man to standup to Papa but MP Grants husband need to call Papa and tell him not to insult his wife anymore.Obviously Vernae Grant won her seat without the assistance of Papa so she should contact Branville and just go green.And Evans dont try and defend Papa as evry Bahamian who has but A Semblance of common sense knows this short man is spiteful,vindictive,oppressive and just not the fit to lead our country.
