We have learnt the rally event is scheduled for Golden Gates Assembly Park on Carmichael Road. The event is said to begin at 7:30PM. We are advised will be speaking. We hear the MP for the area, which has already unleashed his 200 captain POWER HOUSE team throughout the community D. Shane Gibson will be speaking. The public school system has really let some of us down (you didn’t graduate but got one of those leaving certificates, right). Learn to spell, use punctuations, grammar, etc. then get back to me. You are nothing short of a disappointment. Nothing intellectual to add to any discussion (just cussing and carring on like a bar room fling). No! The discussion will be on a higher plane, which apparently places it over your head. DUMB PEOPLE SHOULDN’T BE SO VOCAL, MICHELLE

  2. @ michelle

Shelly dear I’m just a tad bit more than you can handle in a political discussion. Go read one of my posts (I have read yours, thus my advice to you), then sit alone in a room. During that moment of complete quietness have an honest conversation with yourself about taking me on.

I’ll let you off this time with a warning (this display of kindness by me must be because of the beginning of Lent).

  3. @ michelle

I RARELY find myself on the same side as Russell Johnson (LOL) but he is absolutely correct when he advises you to exempt the wives of politicians from discussions.

For God sakes man, regardless of how hot discussions get inside or outside the parliament, there is an “understanding” by politicians on all sides to exclude wives and children from mention. Let’s honor that code too. This is not The Punch.

    • @michelle
Am not polite all the time but you seem determined to feel my wrath.A word to the wise is sufficient.Wives are not up for discussions so you better leave that subject alone.I know how to get down and dirty so be warned.Leave it alone or they will all feel sympathy for you on this site when I start talking about your dirt.

  4. WHAT IS THE NATIONAL DEBT 4.2 BILLION OR 5 BILLION WHEN WE COSIDER ALL THE RECENT BURROWING? THERE IS NO NEED TO MODERATE THIS SIMPLE SEARCH FOR INFORMATION.

  5. @ Sad day in the Bahamas.
Which rally you went to last night; obviously not the one in Golden Gates.
I understand though, “Ya red and ya scared”. LOL

  6. Bernie Christie must now connect to the Bahamian people.
That has not happen of late.
Perception is everything in the political world.
Fred Mitchell in Fox Hill, is one of the few politicians in this country that knows how to win the public’s perception.

  7. @ SAD DAY FOR THE BAHAMAS

How can you assess what the election turnout will be like and which party will win before THE FNM ATTEMPTS TO HOST A RALLY/CONSTITUENCY MEETING? WHAT IS YOUR TIMELY POINT OF REFERENCE?

Bahamians are politically sensible now my friend. Clearly, the FNM is AFRAID TO SCHEDULE ANY THING THAT REMOTELY RESEMBLES A RALLY, SO THEY ARE USING WHAT SHOULD BE “STATELY” FUNCTIONS (LIKE OPENING THE LYNDEN PINDLING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) TO “TEST FLIGHT” THEIR CAMPAIGN MESSAGES. AND GETTING “BOOED” UNCEREMONIOUSLY IN THE MEDIA AND ELSEWHERE FOR SHOWING SUCH CONTEMPT FOR DECENCY I MIGHT ADD.

What is in evidence by the noticeably smaller crowds is the impact that independent voices (like myself) is having on the masses. We have been calling for people to step away from this party obsession and TO BEGIN THINKING FOR THEMSELVES. The “swing voters” are winning the day, so expect nothing like what you have become accustomed to during past campaigns. WE WILL DECIDE WHO GRACES THE HALLS OF PARLIAMENT.

Let’s face it, the rest of you have already voted (for all practical purposes because your support for this or that party is not subject to change, ever). Count all of you, then divide you into PLP and FNM camps and one already knows which party has a slight lead, with the final outcome resting on our shoulders – SWING VOTERS/ INDEPENDENT THINKERS.

  8. WE GO TO THESE RALLIES AND HEAR THE POLITICIANS ATTACK EACH OTHER RECORD OF SERVICE,WHEN ALL OF THEM AND THEIR FAMALIES HAVE BENEFITED FROM THE FLEECING OF THE BAHAMIAN PEOPLE, THEY SAY THAT THE NATIONAL DEBT IS 4.2 BILLION DOLLARS AND WE SEEM TO BE BORROWING EVERY DAY WHICH COULD PLACE OUR DEBT AT ABOUT 4.7 BILLION DOLLARS, DOES MINISTER LAING AS AN ECONOMIST HAVE A LONG TERM PROJECTION PLAN TO DEAL WITH THE NATIONAL DEBT.

  9. It really is a sad day, why did you go to a PLP rally if you are not a PLP. That was not a rally, it was for Golden Gates. You are so full of hate. No wonder why you call your self SAD DAY. YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SAY. Keep praying never stop, because as sure as the sun is shinning out there the PLP will win the next election. We the young people of the BAHAMAS are tired of being SAD. And we are tired of PAPA putting the Foreigners over us. SLAVERY WAS ABOLISH A LONG TIME AGO. WE WILL NOT AND NEVER WILL WE TURN BACK. You hear me SAD DAY.

  10. I went to that PLP rally last night, was that the best the PLP could have done. What a disaster !!!

Is the PLP serious and Perry Christie, he says nothing that makes any sense.

I think that PLP is headed for a serious DEFEAT and this time it will be hurtful to them.

    • @Sad day……yea she is back now for a victory lap i heard….my my left your hubby for all them years talking bout managing daughter…..i smell a fish an it aint fried…it rotten dead……tribune get with it PUNCH knock it out

  11. Base on the current economic climate for some people in the Bahamas, as well as the traffic frustration on our streets, the PLP has a huge advantage in winning the next election. Christie and the PLP have smells something good cooking in their favor.
However, we can never count the “PIT BULL” out of a fight. He reminds me of Kobe and the Lakers, they just know how to show up in the big games.
On another note, Mrs. “Bernie” Christie needs to get involve with some kind of contribution to out young people, like Mrs. D. Ingraham.
You would be amaze of how much people votes for Mr. H. Ingraham because of his wife’s positive contributions to out young people.

  12. @ STORM

I am convinced that the salient points against the sale of BTC to C&W are simply above the heads of not only our Leaders but unfortunately many “professionals” in the private sector. They seem incapable of understanding two points 1) the IT infrastructure of BTC is the real asset of value AND 2) all valuations done on BTC were based on its PRESENT revenue streams. These points are so essential to any understanding of what the true implications of the sale are and the opportunity costs of the same.

  13. Will Perry Gladstone Christie announce that he has modified his plan from an intention to “vigorously review” THE SALE of BTC (to Cablle & Wireless) to something that makes sense. Or will he just serenade us again.

Any decision short of UNDOING THE SALE BY THE PLP DOESN’T MAKE SENSE. THEIR FEROCIOUS OBJECTIONS TO EVERY POINT AND DECISION ALONG THE WAY REQUIRES THEM TO REJECT THE SALE. THIS IS THE ONLY LOGICAL CONCLUSION.

Comparing the FNM and PLP positions on the BTC sale leaves me with a picture of a jury in which the discussion is not guilt or innocence, but rather whether they should go out and pronounce their guilty verdict within minutes after the case closes, or “vigorously review” all of the testimony and evidence, then go out after 7 days to pronounce the same guilty verdict.
