Nassau, Bahamas – A big deal for the island of Grand Bahama is in the works and this afternoon Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie heads to Switzerland to engage the investors.

Bahamas Press has learnt MSC is seeking the purchase of the Grand Lucayan Resort on Grand Bahama islands and additionally is seeking the approval of the Bahamas Government for a multi-million dollar marine park development at the former Ocean Cay now named Sandy Cay.

While Hutchison, the present owners of the Grand Lucayan, are excellent port developers, they have not had the same success in the hotel sector.

The deal with MSC promises to achieve a major boost in the economy of Grand BAHAMA. Prime Minister Christie is said to be jetting off to make final preparations to ink the deal.

Meanwhile Dr. Bernard J. Nottage will be in charge of the country as Deputy Prime Minister landed in Japan this morning for a twelve-day trip!
