Police Crime Report for Tuesday 23rd March, 2010

Sometime around 4:10 pm on Monday 22 March, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Carters Electronics, East Street South.  Police responded and information received a male clad in a blue and green jacket, a hat and a pair of fire shades, allegedly armed with a handgun entered the establishment demanding cash.  The culprit robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash and an assortment of phone cards and fled the area in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

Stabbing
Sometime around 4:15pm on Monday 22nd March, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Alexandria Ave off Carmichael Road.  Police responded and information received, a male got into an altercation with a female known to him, which resulted in the male being stabbed to the left thigh.  The male was taken to hospital via EMS personnel, his condition unknown at this time.

Armed Robbery
Sometime around 11:10 pm on Monday 22nd March, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Minnie Street off Robinson Road.  Police responded and information received a male resident on arrival to his home was approached by another male, clad in a navy blue hooded jacket, allegedly armed with a handgun demanding cash.  The culprit robbed the male of his jewelry and fled the area heading North on Minnie Street, in a black 1996 Nissan Maxima L/P number  unknown driven by another male.    Police are investigating.

Armed Robbery
Sometime around 1:45pm on Tuesday 23rd March, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at East Street and Gibbs Corner.  Police responded and information received, an omnibus driver stopped at that location to  collect a male  passenger.  The passenger allegedly armed with knife, stabbed the omnibus driver to the the left side  and  robbed him of an undetermined amount.  The victim was taken to hospital via private vehicle.  The suspect fled the area on foot.  Police are investigating

Drug Arrest
Sometime around 6:35 am on Tuesday 23rd March, 2010 officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information executed a search warrant on a two storey Apartment at Peardale.   Officer’s search and discovered fifteen (15) pounds of suspected marijuana in one of the bedrooms.  Two Bahamian males ages 27 and 29 years, both residents of Peardale were taken into custody.  Investigations continue.
