POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’S 10TH HOMICIDE

Nassau, Bahamas — Police is seeking the public’s assistance in solving the country’s latest homicide that occurred on Wednesday morning.

According to police reports, around 10:00am a 24-year old male victim was standing on Kingston Street off Kemp Road when four males in a green Honda vehicle approached him. One of the occupants in the vehicle opened fire on the victim resulting in him receiving a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was transported the victim to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:00noon.

Moment’s later officers from the Central Division took four (4) males into custody for questioning reference to this matter.

NORTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS UNCOVERS FIREARM

According to police reports, around 7:00pm on Tuesday, officers from the Northeastern Division acting on information conducted a search of an abandoned vehicle located at Kingston Street off Kemp Road where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.

Investigations are ongoing.

MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS MAKE FIREARM ARREST

Two (2) men aged 29 and 27 years are in custody after police arrested them for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Tuesday 29th January 2013.

According to Police reports, around 10:00pm Officers from the Mobile Division acting on information received, conducted a search of the two suspects at Guilin Avenue and Sumner Street, Nassau Village. During the search the officers uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The two suspects were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing.
