Nassau, Bahamas — Breaking News coming into Bahamas Press confirms Police Staff Association Chairman, Dwight Smith has been acquitted of rape and indecent assault!
Inspector Smith had pleaded not guilty to the charge of indecent assault, which allegedly occurred in December 2013. The virtual complainant alleged that the inspector tried to hold her down. Mr. Smith had been interdicted for three years and now he has to be refunded all that money owed to him. Smith’s arraignment came just after court proceedings demanded that policemen be paid overtime for their 12-hour shifts.
The matter was dismissed and carefully argued by Attorney Devard Francis who represented Smith in court.
This afternoon he was told he was free to go.
