Stabbing
Sometime around 1:26 a.m. on Saturday 27th March, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Jasmine Gardens off Zion Blvd. Police responded and information received two (2) men while at a party got into an altercation which resulted in a 22 year old male being stabbed to the back and right arm. The male was taken to hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Police are investigating.
Armed Robbery
Sometime around 1:20 p.m. on Saturday 27th March, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Mount Royal Avenue. Police responded and information received two (2) men, one of whom was clad in a white t-shirt and green sweat suit pants, allegedly armed with a handgun exited a cream Chrysler 300 series vehicle L/P 322 and robbed a female of her white Toyota Camry L/P 114220. The men fled the area heading north on Collins Ave. Additional information received both Home Fabrics and Auto Wizard were robbed by two (2) men, one of whom was clad in a white t-shirt and green sweat pants, allegedly armed with a handgun who fled the area in a champagne Chrysler L/P 322. Police have recovered both vehicles. Investigations continue.
Armed Robbery
Sometime around 8:00 pm on Saturday 27th March, 2010 police received information of an armed robbery at Sapphire Ridge off Prince Charles Drive. Police responded and information received, a male and a female were at home when they were approached by a male clad in a black ski mask, long blue shirt, khaki pants and black shoes allegedly armed with a handgun demanding cash. The culprit robbed the couple of an undetermined amount of cash and a cell phone and fled the area on foot in the Prince Charles area. Police are investigating.
Stabbing
Sometime around 1:33 am on Sunday 28th March, 2010 police received information of a stabbing at Victoria Gardens off Gladstone Road. Police responded and information received a 23 year old male resident of Halifax Road, Stapledon Gardens got into an altercation with a female whom he knew. It is reported that another male got involved in the altercation and subsequently stabbed the 23 year old male about the body. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS, his condition is unknown at this time. A 28 year old male of Jubilee Gardens has been taken into custody. Police are investigating.
Firearm Arrest
Sometime around 4:36am on Sunday 28th March, 2010 officers of the Police Tourism Unit were on patrol on Marlborough Street when they observed a male acting suspiciously. Officers made a check of the males’ vehicle, a silver 1999 Honda Civic L/P 217985 and recovered a handgun and a quantity of ammunition. The 33 year old resident of Hibiscus Street was taken into custody. Police are investigating.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Sometime around 6:00 am on Saturday 27th March, 2010 police on Long Island were alerted to individuals, believed to be Haitian Nationals, walking in the area of Stevens Long Island. Police officers along with locals conducted a search of the area and captured eighty-six (86) illegal immigrants ( 77 males and 9 females). The immigrants were handed over to Immigration officials.
