DOUBLE HOMICIDE UPDATE

In relation to the double homicide which occurred on Saturday 26th March, 2011 at the Lounge, East and Lewis Streets, police have arrested two males ages 41 and 18 years both of Masons Addition.

The suspects, both of whom are known by police, were arrested sometime around 8:25 pm on Saturday 26th March, 2011 in Masons Addition by officers of the Central Detective Unit. Police investigations continue.

RECOVERED FIREARM

Sometime around 4:50 pm on Friday 25th March, 2011 officers of the Central Intelligence Branch acting on information proceeded to a bushy area on Cotton Street, Pinewood Gardens where they recovered two magazines with a quantity of ammunition. No one was taken into custody. Police investigations continue

SHOOTING

Sometime around 8:10 pm on Friday 25th March, 2011 police received information of a shooting at Mount Royal Avenue. Police responded and information received that a male was at Mount Royal Avenue when he was approached by three (3) dark males, one of whom was armed with handgun demanding cash. The victim refused and was subsequently shot to the left shoulder. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he was treated and discharged. The culprits fled the area in an unknown direction. Police are investigating.

FIREARM & AMMUNITION ARREST

Sometime around 10:00 pm on Friday 25th March, 2011 officers of Rapid Strike were on routine patrol on Parker Street off Augusta Street when they observed a male acting suspiciously. Officers conducted a search of the male and recovered a handgun with ammunition. The 22 year old of Quarry Mission Road was taken into custody. Police investigations continue.

DRUG ARREST

Sometime around 6:30 am on Saturday 26th March, 2011 a 19 year old female of Adelaide was arrested in the Pre Clearance Lounge at LPIA. The female was arrested after being found in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine. Police investigations continue.

ALLEGED DROWNING

Sometime around 4:40 pm on Saturday 26th March, 2011 police received information that a male was unresponsive at Cabbage Beach, Paradise Island. Police along with EMS personnel responded and discovered the body of the male lying on the shore, unresponsive. It is reported that the deceased was swimming in waters at Cabbage Beach, when the incident occurred. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he was pronounced dead. Police investigations continue.

DRUG ARREST

Sometime around 5:35 pm on Saturday 26th March, 2011 officers of the Mobile Division were on routine patrol on East Street north when they observed the occupant of a white 1994 Honda Accord L/P number 150127 acting suspiciously. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. The 30 year old of McQuay Street was taken into custody. Police investigations continue.

DANGEROUS DRUG ARREST

Sometime around 7:45 pm on Saturday 26th March, 2011 officers of Rapid Strike along with officers of Spring Break executed a search warrant on a residence at Boyd and Farrington Roads. Officers searched and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. Three (3) males, ages 20, 23 and 29 years were taken into custody. Police investigations continue.

ARMED ROBBERY

Sometime around 6:40 pm on Sunday 27th March, 2011 police received information of an armed robbery at DSA Convenience Store, Coconut Grove Avenue and Fourth Street. Police responded and information received that a dark male, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans pants and shades, entered the establishment allegedly armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The culprit robbed the establishment along with a customer of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. Police are investigating.

FIREARM RECOVERED

Sometime around 8:00 pm on Sunday 27th March, 2011 officers of the Central Detective Unit acting on information proceeded to Pink Coral Drive, Coral Harbour where they conducted a search of a vacant property and recovered a handgun with ammunition. No one was taken into custody. Police investigations continue.

  1. armed with an AK-47 assault rifle ……..well there’s a problem here…someone in Nassau imports these guns and sells them………..legally or illeaglly they are imported.

      RE: Two Arrested in the ivestigation of Saturday’s murder. Hmmm, I hope this is not another case of “Round up the usual suspects!” similar to the police chief’s statement in the famous Humphrey Bogart movie “Casablanca”.
