“The editorial board of Bahamas Press has unanimously agreed that Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Perry Gladstone Christie is the “Person of the Year” as set out by the criteria that we have established,” said Mr. Alexander James, Publisher and CEO of Bahamas Press.
Mr. Christie led his party to a trouncing of the FNM that was unprecedented. He displayed character in the face of massive attempts by the other side to disparage him.
His conduct over the past 35 years in public life has been exemplary and one that others wish to emulate.
He has a passion for the poor and indigent as demonstrated by his commitment to Urban Renewal which he has made a major plank for the Government. This is in keeping with the PLP PHILOSOPHY to “wipe every tear from every eye.”
