40th Anniversary Men’s Awards

Real Men Ministries International Bahamas honored forty (40) Bahamian men during the 40th Anniversary Men’s Awards held this Sunday night September 15th 20013 at the Diplomat Center. Hundreds gathered to recognize and celebrate all of the honorees who represented a diverse mix of professions, backgrounds and achievements. There was an enormous amount of excitement and energy as each honoree accepted their award with family members and friends as well as well wishers in attendance.

The men were selected over a period of time by the Real Men Ministries Executive Board for their invaluable contributions towards the growth and development of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The honorees included Alfred Forbes (Sports), Andy Knowles (Sports), Apostle Carlos Reid (Youth Development), Atario J.Mitchell (Business), Austin Knowles Sr (Sports), Bishop Walter Hanchell (Christian Ministry & Social Development), Bradley Cooper (Sports), Captain Tellis A. Bethel (Military), Charles Carter (National Development), I.Chester Cooper (Business), Commissioner of Police Elliston Greenslade (Military), Craig Walkine (Business), Derek Adams (Youth Development), Dr. David Burrows (Youth Development), Dr.George Sherman (Medicine), Dr.Hervis Bain (National Development), Dr.Judson Eneas (Youth Development), Dr.Myles Munroe (Christian Ministry & National Development), Dr.Ranford Patterson (Christian Ministry & National Development), Edison Sumner (Business), Gregg Cash (Sports), Jamaal Rolle (National Development), Jeff Rodgers (Sports), Kevan McKenzie (Music & Christian Ministry)  , Kevin “KJ” Johnson (Sports), Kevin “Minister K” Harris (Music & Christian Ministry), Leroy Samuels (Christian Ministry), Major Lester Ferguson Christian Ministry & Social Development), Pastor Mario Moxey (Christian Ministry& National Development), Pastor Silbert Mills (Christian Ministry & National Development), Rev. Theophilus Neely (Christian Ministry & National Development), Rev.Alfred Stewart (Christian Ministry & National Development), Rev.Dr. Anthony Grant (Christian Ministry & National Development), Rev.Gary Curry (Christian Ministry & National Development), Rev.Sammy Rolle (Youth Development), Pastor Simeon Outten (Music & Christian Ministry), The Hon.Dr.Kendal Major (Politics & National Development), Winston Penn (Youth Development), Winston Pinnock (Business) & Zhivago Laing (Politics & National Development).

There were also several posthumous awards presented to the families of the late Dr. Mark Anthony Bethel (Music & Christian Ministry), the late Franklyn Augustus Butler Sr (Business), the late Roy Davis (Youth Development) and the late Thomas Augustus Robertson (Sports & National Development).

In addition to the presentation of awards there were also a variety of special music performances from several local recording artists which included Marlin Awards winners Terrance Forbes, DJ Counsellor, Tracy Tracy, Felton Williamson and Manifest. Also performing was Bahamas Faith Ministries all male vocal group Men of Standard and young soloist Carrington McKenzie, whose father the late gospel music legend Kevan McKenzie was also honored. The evening concluded with a special keynote address to all honorees and those in attendance by Dr. Myles Munroe, Senior Pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International. Dr. Munroe shared words of encouragement to all of the men being honored, reminding all in attendance that men are truly the foundation of any successful relationship, family or organization.
