Bamboo Town MP was given two 30 day grace periods to explain himself but refused….
Nassau, Bahamas — Breaking News coming into Bahamas Press confirms Renward Wells has been fired by the Prime Minister.
BP understands the order was delivered to the Acting Governor General earlier today following Cabinet to have Mr. Wells’ appointment revoked as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Works.
Bahamas Press reported a special meeting with Mr. Wells and the Prime Minister just before Mr. Christie left for Harbour Island on Friday.
Mr. Christie, being compassionate over the two-month saga, has asked Wells to formally explain himself in the Parliament. Wells refused and failed to even show up in the Chamber.
A short statement issued by the Cabinet late tonight read:
“The Cabinet Office advises that the Governor General, acting in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister, has directed that the office of Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Urban Development become vacant.”
Bahamas Press wonders who now will Andre Rollins implicate as he suggested a few weeks ago in the Parliament. We call his bluff. He can’t call anyone to account in this matter.
