Nassau, Bahamas — The string of robberies have taken an upswing in the capital as more than 40 robberies in the gated community of Lyford Cay has been to police over the last week. BP can confirm the super rich and wealth in the tucked away gated palaces have been hit hard by fleecing thugs.

The crimes in the western section of New Providence have also taken a toll on hotel guests in the Cable Beach area. The string of robberies have force leadership on the force to alert resident and guests of the surroundings. Last week Senior Superintendent of Police Stephen Dean advised visitors checking into hotels to use their safety deposit boxes in the rooms at resorts around the country. Police have been called to investigate a string of robberies at hotels with guest losing credit cards, wallet, jewelery and cash.

‘Oil Gusher’, Vincent Vanderpool Wallace, told members of the media crime is not affecting Tourism, however, the minister who is ‘Gone with the Wind’ and is lost as like Alice was in Wonderland is managing declined numbers in tourism.

Meanwhile, around 4AM this morning bold robbers shot into the glass doors at the Shell Gas Station on Thompson Blvd. and Poinciana Drive. The foiled robbery has landed one cashier in hospital and other workers shaken.

Police quickly responded to the scene and  the robbers fled the area. After shooting into the doors bandits attempted to make entry into the bulletproof cashier’s cage. While no one was injured the cashier fell to the floor and fainted. EMS were called to the scene. Her condition is unknown as she was taken to hospital.
