A woman now leads the country’s most powerful sporting association!
Nassau, Bahamas — There is a woman at the top of the BAAAs today and her name is Rosamunde Campbell Carey. She toppled incumbent President Mike Sands and his entire team in elections last night.
The BAAAs is the governing body for track and field in The Bahamas.
Carey operates a business in New Providence. She is the wife of Derek Carey and her brothers are no strangers either [Rev. Carl, Wesley and Peter Campbell] among others.
Two females now lead the sporting organization as Olympian Tonique Darling was elected 1st Vice President of the Association.
Sources tell us the move to topple Mike has come as no surprise as court matters are still stalled with former BAAAs executives and is believed to have created a major rift in the organization.
Some sports enthusiasts have been taken aback following the crushing defeat and have asked for the votes to be “Counted Again”!
