Smuggling Operations could cost migrants out of Haiti $5,000 per head…
Eleuthera, Bahamas — Breaking News coming into Bahamas Press right now confirms another sloop full of migrants has landed in the Bahamas.
We can confirm a boatload of Haitian migrants has been apprehended off the southern coast of Eleuthera this afternoon.
No boat was in the area following the sighting of the vessel, so police on the island had to use the ferryboat that goes to Half Moon Cay from Davis Harbour, South Eleuthera, to apprehend the vessel and arrest the migrants.
The migrant situation, we are told, is a $5,000 per head smuggling operation. We hope the captain is charged!
