Nassau, Bahamas – Police are reporting that there is a second major drug bust on the island of Inagua. This incident is the latest since Saturday when some five suspects were caught with drugs onboard a Haitian vessel. They were all arraigned in court in New Providence this morning.

But while leaders gathered at the Harry C. Moore Library last night to layout the vision for the nation into 2040, a second Haitian vessel was intercepted, and yes, more than 100 kilos of cocaine were again discovered.

Police took eight adult males from Haiti along with an adult Bahamian male into custody following that drug bust in Inagua on Monday afternoon.

Reports are that shortly after 4:00pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by International Counterparts from the US Coastguard and Drug Enforcement Administration, acting on intelligence conducted a search of a Haitian vessel in Inagua where they uncovered over 100 kilos of cocaine.

The nine men who were on board the vessel were taken into custody for questioning.

This is great police work and we at Bahamas Press salute the DECENT men and women of the ROyal Bahamas Police Force who continue to protect the nation.

We report yinner decide!
