A security officer being hauled to Central Police Station by police officers. The scene left tourists watching and steering, holding their lips. It also left residents shouting across the street, Bay Street. Our question was, what did this security officer do to be haul into Bank Lane’s Central Police Station?

I disagree about the “international perspective”. If we want to go there, know that there are similar senarios worldwide. This stuff can happen in any major city, and no one says a peep, becasue the officers are and need to do their jobs when people disturb the peace in whatever way possible. I have seen this happen at least twice in downtown. Unless is was a shootout in the middle of downtown, I dont think this is too much to talk about.

However we do have a few people in downtown that are quite unruly to residents and tourists, and if they have no other business beyond loitering they need to be on their way. I don’t know if he was loitering, becasue we don’t know if he even works in the area. Nothing says whether he was on or off duty, sober or drunk, stable of sound mind or a danger to himself and others.

  2. ….lol…..Drama, you ain’t lie some of these security firm does hire the most undesirable and dubious people and then put them in uniform and send them off to watch people businesses. They do not care if these people have a criminal history. They could be a bunch of rapists, thieves, crack heads or whatever, they just want someone to send to represent their company, so they can collect a pay checks at the end of the month. A lot of these security guards are some of the most dangerous people around. They are the ones who organize and setup most of these robberies. The companies that hire these criminals to work as security guard do not want to hire decent people because they do not want to pay them anything worthwhile, so they get a bunch of losers who they can manipulate and make them work long hours, because they know they are desperate people who no one else would probably consider hiring. They really don’t seem to care how they put people lives at risk. This is why I don’t trust these security guards to walk me to my car.

  3. Whether he is innocent or guilty its HORRIBLE to see a “law enforcement” officer dragged down the street by THE Law Enforcement of this country. Plus he wasnt “going quietly into the night”. If you watch the video you can see he was resisting.

Kim I would have to say that PLENTY guys who are dressed up in security officer uniforms are undesirables that were employed with no background check and sent off to guard people’s “treasures”.

The only security firm I trust is WemCo as I know for a fact that they screen and background check every man/woman they employ as a security officer.

  4. Good morning Dibbles, I don’t know what this security guard did to be arrested in his uniform and embarrass himself like this. Seen, that the police already have him in their custody, if this security guard has any sense he would behave himself, because he could be in for some serious bruising. It doesn’t seem as if it takes much for some of our officers to fly of the handle. I think some of them could use some serious anger management classes.

  6. Good morning Kim I understand your point, but always remember there are three sides to each story in this case. The Security Officer side,The Police Officers side and the truth.

  7. Dibbles, I would have to do some further investigation before I can make a judgement. I know how some of these police officers could be so unprofessional at times, so I would have to listen to what the people on scene as to say about the incident. Also, I would have to consider his past characteristics. If I know him to be a humble man of God, then I would have to wait to hear his side of the story. If I know him to be a drunken villian who is always getting into trouble, then I would say good riddens and well done officers!!

  8. Well Kim Sand look at it this way, if this Security Officer was working for your Security firm and he was arrested and taken Down Bay street in that manner would you keep him at your firm.

  9. The only thing I could say is SORRY, it’s him and GLAD it’s not me.Well you know he’s now an ex-Security Officer.
