SET OFFICERS ARREST MAN WITH LOADED GUN FOLLOWING FOOT CHASE

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) arrested a male suspect after he led them on a foot chase with a loaded gun on Sunday 27th March 2016.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team were on patrol on Kemp Road, when they saw the suspect who aroused their suspicion. The suspect on seeing the officers threw an object to the ground and fled on foot. After a short foot chase the suspect was caught by the officers. The object was recovered and found to be a .40 pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition. The suspect is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.

FOUR IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING LARGE DRUG SEIZURE

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit took four adult males into custody following the seizure of a large quantity of drugs on Sunday 27th March 2016.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information went to a residence off Marshall Road, where they uncovered 29 pounds of marijuana. The four adult males were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

DRUG SUSPECT WHO JUMPED BAIL, ARRESTED BY DEU OFFICERS

Drug suspect Sherlin Woodside who has been on the run for a year after he jumped bail after being charged in a major drug case, was arrested by officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) on Sunday 27th March 2016.
