Stubbs named Port Authority Chairman

Felix Stubbs, new Grand Bahama Port Chairman.

The Board of Directors of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited announced that Mr. Felix N. Stubbs has been named Chairman of The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA), effective 4th July, 2008. Both Mr. Stubbs and Mr. Erik Christiansen were recently appointed by the Supreme Court of The Bahamas as independent directors to the Board of GBPA and Port Group Limited (PGL). Mr. Erik Christiansen was also recently named Chairman of PGL.

GBPA is primarily owned by Intercontinental Diversified Corporation (IDC) and is responsible for the administration, management and regulation of the City of Freeport, under the terms of the Hawksbill Creek Agreement.

PGL is also owned by IDC and consists of a Group of Companies, including Grand Bahama Utility Company Limited, Freeport Commercial and Industrial Limited, Bourbon Street Limited (Port Lucaya Marketplace), Port Lucaya Resort & Yacht Club, and Carrick Limited. PGL is also a joint venture partner of The Grand Bahama Development Company, Freeport Harbour Company Limited, Grand Bahama Airport Company Limited, and the Sea Air Business Centre.

The Board noted that it is delighted to have Mr. Stubbs and Mr. Christiansen as Chairmen of GBPA and PGL respectively, to assist in charting the course for the future of Freeport and Grand Bahama Island.
